Frisco Fest set in May

GARYVILLE – The San Francisco Plantation in participation with Marathon Ashland Petroleum Company will host the second annual “Frisco Fest” Garden and Craft Show on May 21 and 22 at the plantation in Garyville.
The festival will feature music from local band “Typical Reason” on Saturday and Sunday and from “Little Miss Fiddle” Amanda Shaw on Sunday. Also featured, are local arts and crafts, exhibits/displays, kid’s discovery area, garden society, Chef’s Choice cook off, 25-mile bike race, one-mile fun run and 5K run and many other family fun activities.
The festival will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. It is open to the public and area business are encouraged to participate. Admission is $5 for adults and free for children 12 years of age or younger.
All proceeds go to the plantation for the preservation and upkeep of the national historic landmark. House tours require additional fees.
