Riverside girls basketball coach Jody LeBlanc was worried that something like this could happen.
He knew his team could not rely on Jena Elfer for every game.
Unfortunately, he made his point as his girls fell to St. Martin’s, 45-30.
Jena Elfer continues to be the lone offensive threat for the Lady Rebels as she scored 10 points to lead Riverside.
The loss drops the Lady Rebels to 8-12 on the season and 5-4 in district 10-2A play.
Outscored 14-2 in the first quarter and 12-3 in the third quarter, Rebels head coach Jody LeBlanc said his team must find some offense if they are to have a chance to make the playoffs this season.
“We just didn’t even start good,” LeBlanc said. “We are just making bad mistakes offensively. We have been unable to get into a rhythm. We just have to be patient and control the basketball.
“Anytime you score 30 points, you really can’t expect to beat anybody, especially a team like St. Martin’s. We just don’t really have any shooters on this team. We are still a very young team and we are fighting through a couple of things. Hopefully, we will continue to improve.
