The day has finally arrived.
No more questions, no more rumors, only answers.
It’s name is National Signing Day.
One of the most prestigious moments in a high school athletes life, high school football players from around the area will make their college choices known today when they sign their National Letters of Intent.
Several players have already verbally committed to colleges and signing day is just a formality. Tyrell Fenroy of St. Charles Catholic is verbally committed to play for Rickey Bustle and the University of Louisiana-Lafayette and Patrick Jackson of West St. John is verbally committed to play for Louisiana Tech.
The duo will be joined by a host of other players from around the area that will be signing their scholarship papers as Lutcher, Destrehan and Hahnville will all have signees.
The big question is where East St. John’s Ryan Perrilloux will be playing next season. The top-rated player in the state and one of the most highly recruited players in the country, the Wildcat quarterback has narrowed his choices to the University of Texas, Mississippi State University and LSU. Perrilloux will make his decision known today at 8 a.m.
Perrilloux’s decision is tentatively set to be televised nationally on College Sports Television. from the East St. John cafteria.
