Jena Elfer led the Rebels with 10 points in a 29-23 defeat of Buras.
Riverside head coach Jody LeBlanc was happy with his team’s performance, particularly defensively.
“We had a pretty good size lead going into the fourth quarter and I was able to get some of my younger kids into play,” LeBlanc said. “Towards the end they were able to make a run but we scored enough points to hold on and win. Our defense really played well though when it mattered.”
With only a few district games remaining, LeBlanc says his team must play well if they want to contend for a playoff spot.
“We have to be able to win the games that we are suppose to win and pick up a couple that we are not suppose to win,” LeBlanc said.
“What we have to do that we didn’t do the first time is play every game every night. We can’t just show up and do things halfway. If we do that, we can win.”
