BOUTTE – Hahnville quarterback Bryant Lee was 12 of 17 and responsible for three touchdowns and 150 yards in the Tigers’ playoff victory over West Jefferson.
Lee connected with Jordan Stephany for an 8-yard touchdown in the first quarter, followed by Drew LeBlanc’s PAT for the 7-0 lead.
Lee then connected with Robertson for a 25-yard pass to put the Tigers ahead, 14-0 after the PAT.
LeBlanc booted a 30-yard field goal to start off second quarter scoring for the Hahnville Tigers, which put them ahead of West Jefferson by a 17-0 tally.
However, West Jeff was not to be denied, and Mark Ford nailed Jarell Starks on a 10-yard pass for a touchdown in the second quarter, for a 17-7 total.
Hahnville’s Lee then popped a pass to Brian Singleton for 23 yards and a touchdwn, also in the second quarter.
The LeBlanc PAT was good, and Hahnville stretched their lead back out to 24-7.
In the second half, early in the third quarter, Ford hit Stacks again, this time for a 65-yard pass play for a touchdown. The PAT was good and West Jefferson was back in the ball game, trailing 24-14.
In the fourth quarter, Michael Phimas darted for 20 yards for West Jefferson to keep the game tight, and with the PAT good, the visitors trailed Hahnville by only 24-21.
However, that was not good enough for the win this time, and Hahnville goes on to host Slidell next week in the next round of the Class 5A state football playoffs.
