Lutcher volleyball team named for elite

LUTCHER – For the second consecutive year, the Lutcher High School’s Lady Bulldog Volleyball Team has been the recipient of the American Volleyball Coaches Association Team Academic Award.
This award captures the true essence of the student-athlete, who matched her dedication to the sport of volleyball with her excellence in the classroom.
To receive this award, a team must maintain at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade point average during the school year. The 2003-2004 Lady Bulldog’s Team achieved an overall GPA of 3.7, and Lutcher was one of only two Louisiana schools which won the award.
Receiving the team plaque is coach Ricky LeBlanc, while receiving certificates for their excellence in academics are:
2004 Graduates: Cassie Gravois, daughter of Vincent and Lydia Gravois. Cassie is presently attending LSU.
2005 Seniors: Bridget Belak, daughter of Karlo and Karen Belak; Nicole Boe, daughter of Charles and Lisa Boe; Brandi Keller, daughter of Tim and Billie Keller; Lauri Martin, daughter of Billy and Gina Martin; and Amanda Waguespack, daughter of larry and Renee Waguespack.
Juniors: Tritian LeBlanc, daughter of Telly and Donna LeBlanc; Cassie Martin, daughter of Penny and Charlie Martin; and Traci Martin, daughter of Jerry and Tammy Martin.
Sophomore: Katie Duhe, daughter of Perry and Lisa Duhe.
