RA defeats Rams

RESERVE – Behind Jared Caesar’s 125-yard rushing effort, the Riverside Academy Rebels easily defeated the Redeemer-Seton Rams 42-18 Friday night in Reserve. Caesar got things started in the first quarter with a two-yard touchdown run to give the Rebels (4-1, 1-0) a 7-0 lead.
The Rams tied things up in the first quarter when quarterback Thomas Wilkes connected with wide receiver George Lewis for a 14-yard touchdown pass. The PAT was no good, making the score 7-6 Riverside.
In the second quarter, the Rebels continued their successful ground attack.
Lee Haydel took it in from the 26-yard line to give the Rebels a 13-7 lead.
Haydel finished the game with 11 carries for 95-yards rushing.
Following an AJ Delaneuville touchdown run, the Rebels took a 19-7 lead at halftime.
Caesar added another touchdown run in the third quarter. Caesar’s 12-yard run made the score 26-7 RA. Delaneuville’s PAT was good.
Riverside then recovered a Redeemer-Seton fumble, giving them the ball deep in Rams territory.
A five-yard touchdown run by Andrew Herring and a 33-yard touchdown run by Caesar put the game away for Riverside.
Caesar finished the game with three rushing touchdowns.
The Rams scored in the fourth quarter on an 85-yard pass play from Wilkes to Lewis. The Rebels outrushed the Rams 304 -07 in the game.
Riverside Academy will travel to Buras Friday night.
