Golf tourney to help abused children

LULING – A golf tournament to benefit the St. Charles Council for Prevention of Child Abuse is set June 14 at Willowdale Country Club in Luling.

The fund-raiser is a four-person scramble and the $75-per-player fee includes lunch, drinks and prizes.

Two mulligans per player may also be purchased for $10 each.

Registration for the tournament will start at 11 a.m., with a shotgun start at 1 p.m.

In addition to the $75 per player fee, a sponsorship is available for $100, with advertisement and recognition at tournament, and a special $350 fee will pay for a four-person team and sponsorship.

Entry forms, with the fee check payable to St. Charles Council for Prevention of Child Abuse, needs to be received by June 7, to P.O. Box 1321, Luling, LA 70070.

The St. Charles Council for Prevention of Child Abuse is a non-profit, volunteer, tax free organization.

The organization focuses on preventative and educational programs to schools, daycares, civic groups and general public in the River Parishes.

The center also offers free counseling to abused children and their families.

St. Charles Council for Prevention of Child Abuse teaches the fundamental rules of self-protection. The chapter has reached more than 2,000 children with specific tools to use in real life situations.

These preventative programs that are offered to children, counselors, teachers, and the community will help protect the children from being abused.

These skills and knowledge will serve the children now as well as in the future.
