ST. CHARLES PARISH – Two men on opposite sides of the Mississippi River were arrested on May 24 by St. Charles parish police for possession of drugs.

Captain Pat Yoes with the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office said police received an anonymous phone call tipping them off to someone selling drugs on the west bank. When police arrived at the 200 block of Johnson St. in St. Rose they found a suspicious-looking person matching the description given by the caller.

According to Yoes, Fabien J. Murry IV began walking faster when he saw the police. As the police approached him, Murry threw something on the ground. “That something tested out to be Methamphetamine, a white crystal powder,” said Yoes.

Police found out that Murry was wanted in Waco, Texas.

Murry, 40-years old listed his address as being 308 Lopez, Bellmead, Texas.

Also arrested for drugs at 1:30 p.m. on the same day was 23-year old Michael A. Savoie Jr.

A police officer noticed an expired inspection sticker and license plate on Savoie’s vehicle while he was driving on the east bank side of the river. The police pulled Savoie over and ran a police check on him.

Savoie is listed by police as living at 176 Martin Lane, Des Allemands.
