BADEAUX

DESTREHAN – Gladys P. Badeaux, 92, a native of Re-serve and resident of Des-trehan, died Feb. 12. She was the wife of the late Lolan Badeaux Sr. and mother of Levern Pecora and the late Gladys Carmouche and Lolan “Blue” Badeaux Jr.

She was also the daughter of the late Arthur and Agnes Verret Perilloux and sister of Leroy Perilloux and the late Joyce Weaner, Ethel Mae Lewis, Olga Bourg and Jules, Stanley, Burton and Arthur “Treasure” Perilloux.

She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one grandchild.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Destrehan, with interment at the church mausoleum. Visitation starts at 8 a.m. at H.C. Alexander Funeral Home, Norco.

BEARD

SAN AUGUSTINE, Texas – Scott Harvey Beard, 47, a resident of Destrehan, died Feb. 11. He was the husband of Tammy Neill Beard and father of Callie, Camlin and Cade Beard.

He was also the son of Milton and Janice Beard and brother of Michelle Chance, Melissa Denman and Milton and Mike Beard.

He was also the grandchild of Hester Harvey.

He was an inspector at Cytec Industries in Wag-gaman.

Services are today at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Wyman Roberts Memorial Chapel, San Augustine, Texas, with interment at Harvey Cem-etery, Broaddus, Texas.

BOUDREAUX

HARVEY – Clara E. Boudreaux, 87, a native of St. Rose and resident of Gretna, died Feb. 10. She was the former wife of the late Minus Morris Legnon and mother of Ronald and Larry Legnon.

She was also the daughter of the late Clement and Mary Blanchard Boudreaux and sister of the late Mable Tauzin, Agnes Naquin and Anthony, Roy, Clement and Norman Boudreaux.

She is survived by two grandchildren.

Services were Feb. 12 in the chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, Harvey, with interment at Westlawn Cemetery.

BROCK

LAPLACE – Capt. John W. Brock, 81, a native of Ohio and resident of LaPlace for 40 years, died Feb. 9. He was the husband of the late Julie Carpi Brock and father of Julie Hanley, Michael and Thomas Brock and the late Caryl Wilkinson.

He was also the son of the late Carl and Caryl Brock.

He is also survived by nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran.

Memorial services were Feb. 13 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, LaPlace.

DeLAUGHTER

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – George David DeLaughter, 46, a native of Aiken, S.C. and resident of Florida, died Feb. 10. He was the husband of Julie December DeLaughter and father of Nicholas DeLaughter.

He was also the son of James and Nona DeLaughter and brother of Ann Sink and Elizabeth Anderson of LaPlace.

He was active in real estate and enjoyed fishing and sailing.

Services are today in the chapel of Kotrady Hudgins Croyle Funeral Home, St. Augustine, Fla.

DUHON

LUTCHER – James An-thony “Lil’ James” Duhon, 23, a native of Lutcher and resident of LaPlace, died Feb. 6. He was the husband of Shemika Sullivan Duhon and father of Charles Lucas.

He was also the son of Cynthia Duhon Williams and James Johnson Jr.; stepson of Lawrence Williams Sr. and Mary K. Johnson; brother of Eric Duhon and Lawrence and Courtney Williams; and stepbrother of Michael Beck-less and James Johnson III.

He was also the grandchild of Joseph Sr. and Audrey Mae Duhon and Richard Jr. and Brenda Mitchell.

Services were Feb. 13 at First Community Antioch Baptist Church, Lutcher, with interment at Antioch Cem-etery, Paulina.

GRALAPP

LAPLACE – Capt. Lawrence “Brownie” Gralapp III, 60, a native of Mobile, Ala., and resident of Reserve for 36 years, died Feb. 12. He was the husband of Barbara Bell Gralapp and father of Wendy Nelson and Lawrence “Lee” IV, Wesley and Marshall Gralapp.

He was also the brother of William Gralapp.

He is also survived by 12 grandchildren.

He was a tugboat captain for Jefferson Marine.

Memorial services are today at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, LaPlace, with private interment. Visitation starts at 10 a.m.

JACKSON

CONVENT – Lillian “Lil Yan” “Yannie” Jackson, 83, a native and resident of St. James Parish, died Feb. 10. She was survived by guardian Frances Sanders and godson Freeman Scott.

Services were Feb. 14 at St. James United Methodist Church, Convent, with interment at the church cemetery.

LANGSTON

HATTIESBURG. Miss. – Howard S. “Papa Stan” Lang-ston Jr., a resident of LaPlace, died Feb. 10. He was the husband of Rita J. “R.J.” Lang-ston and father of Kenneth and Lynn Cahill.

He is also survived by five grandchildren.

He was the former owner of R.J.’s Lounge in LaPlace.

Services are today in Hat-tiesburg, Miss.

MILLER

RESERVE – Alfred Miller Jr., 88, a native of Belmont and resident of Gramercy, died Feb. 11. He was the husband of the late Eleanor Poche Miller.

He was also the son of the late Alfred and Clarise Leblanc Miller and brother of George Miller and the late Lelia Landry, Lillian Braud, Emile Bourgeois, Lilly Trox-clair and Willie and Clarence Miller.

He was a World War II veteran and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5852, American Legion Post 159, Disabled American Vet-erans Chapter 24 and St. Peter’s League of Sacred Heart.

He was also retired from Godchaux Suger Refinery.

Services were Feb. 13 at St. Peter Catholic Church, Reserve, with interment at the church cemetery.

RICHARDSON

NEW ORLEANS – Hattie Mae Fisher Richardson, 90, a native of Convent and resident of New Orleans for most of her life, died Feb. 9. She was the wife of the late Arthur Richardson and mother of Lillie Mae Butler and Willie Mae Rochon.

She was also the daughter of the late Thomas Sr. and Lillie Crosby Mitchell and sister of Albertha Taylor, Elnora Davis and the late Ollie Butler and Thomas Jr. and Edward Mitchell.

She is also survived by nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was active in Christian education, the radio choir, the mission department and the Sunday School department at Historic Second Baptist Church.

Services were Feb. 14 at Historic Second Baptist Church, New Orleans, with interment at Providence Memorial Park.

SIMON

LAPLACE – Delores Chenier Simon, 66, a native of LaPlace and resident of Montz, died Feb. 8. She was the mother of Matt and the late Mark Simon.

She was also the daughter of the late Ovide and Phelodia Chenier and sister of Rose Caronna, Theresa Lambert and Ovide Jr. and the late Linda Chenier.

Services were Feb. 14 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, LaPlace, with interment at St. John Memorial Gardens, LaPlace.

SMITH

NEW ORLEANS – Dolories Smith, 62, a native of New Orleans and resident of LaPlace for two years, died Feb. 8. She was the mother of Dorothy Jessie, Tisa Williams, Collett McGhee, Tamandy Jackson and John, Dean, Tony and Kamal Williams.

She was also the daughter of Maude Edwards, stepdaughter of Jack Edwards and sister of Henry Smith Jr.

She is also survived by 27 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Services were Feb. 13 in the chapel of Richardson Funeral Home, New Orleans, with private interment.

TURNER

HAHNVILLE – Margaret Jupiter Turner, 70, a native of Napoleonville and resident of Hahnville, died Feb. 7. She was the mother of Catherine Gordon and Leo III and Hasker Turner.

She was also the sister of Shirley, Daniel and Clarence Earl and stepsister of Willow Claverie and Eva Mae, Dianne, Melvin and James Jupiter.

She is also survived by three grandchildren.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at Philadelphia Baptist Church, Hahnville, with interment at Bethlehem Bap-tist Cemetery, Hahnville. Visitation starts at 9:30 a.m.

VANATTA

GARYVILLE – Suzette Bivona Vanatta, 25, a native of Garyville and resident of Miami, Okla, died Feb. 6. She was the wife of David Vanatta Jr. and mother of Michael and the late Morgan Vanatta.

She was also the daughter of Deanna Bivona Caillouet, stepdaughter of Darren Cail-louet Sr. and sister of Lacey and Darren Caillouet Jr.

She was also the grandchild of Isabelle Bivona and Lois Caillouet.

Memorial services are today at 11 a.m. at St. Hubert Catholic Church, Garyville. Interment was at Greenlawn Cemetery in Melrose, Kan.
