METAIRIE – Merle Clair Baker, 55, a native of New Orleans and resident of LaPlace for many years, died June 17. She was the mother of Lester Williams and stepmother of Christine Black and Teddy Baker.She was also the sister of Jean Whittaker Barber.She is also survived by one grandchild.nervices were June 21 in the chapel of Tharp-Sontheimer-Tharp Funeral Home, Metairie, with private interment.BRADY
RESERVE – Antoine W. Brady Sr., 83, a native of Hester and resident of Reserve, died June 20. He was the husband of the late Ella Audiffred Brady and father of Darlin Brady-Caro and Antoine “Pop-Top” Brady Jr.He ws also the son of the late Eugenie and Moise Brady and brother of Edvige LeBlanc, Antoinette “Kit” Kling, Melda Petit, Marie Poche and the late Lillian Weber, Rita Madere and Albert “Snow,” Eddie and Eugene “Gene:” Brady.He is also survived by four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one grandchild.cervices were June 22 at St. Peter Catholic Church, Reserve, with interment at the church cemetery.

VACHERIE – Oliska Burham, 93, a native and resident of Vacherie, died June 17. She was the wife of the late Joseph Burham, mother of Celestine Aubert, Adeline Jackson, Althea Costley, Eddie and Michael Burham and stepmother of the late Enola Aubert and Royal and Gabriel Burham.She was also the daughter of the late Robert and Cora Miller Johnson and sister of the late Albertha Jones and Edward, Beatrice, Roselia and Henritta Johnson.She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and several great- and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one grandchild.Services were June 21 at First Baptist Church, Vacherie, with interment at the church cemetery.CARMOUCHE

She was the mother of Rhonda Palmisano, Jeannine Bleakley, Julie Roussel and Harry Jr., Pierre and Paul Carmouche.She was also the daughter of the late Pierre Larroux Jr. and Gertrude Ollie Brooks and sister of Lois Terrio.She is also survived by 13 grandchildren.Services are today at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Norco, with interment at Garden of Memories Cemetery, Metairie. HAHNVILLE – Nolan J. “Sunnyman” Melonson Jr., 46, a native of Hahnville and resident of New Orleans for 10 years, died June 18. She was the wife of the late Ronald Joseph Rabalais Sr. and mother of Kathie Kern and Ronald Jr. and Gerald Rabalais.She was also the daughter of the late Biaggio Sr. and Bertha Pitre Maggio and sister of Theresa Hebert and Biaggio Jr. and Henry Maggio.She is also survived by six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.Services were June 21 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Luling, with interment at St. Charles Cemetery, Luling.

ARRERO – Irving Roussell, 69, a native of Vacherie and resident of Marrero, died June 20. He was the husband of Nellie Himes Roussell, father of Shannon Bocage, Shantrice Joseph, Shawnette Coleman, Irving, Sharon and Shelly Roussell and adopted father of Wanda McCall.He was also the son of the late Edward and Elnora Roussell and brother of Rosalie Nash and Melvin, Alvin, Warren, Mervin, Earl and the late Eddie Roussell.He is also survived by 12 grandchildren.Services are today at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Marrero, with interment at Restlawn Cemetery, Avondale. She was the mother of the late Patricia Washington.She was also the daughter of the late Florestine and Isiah Washington and sister of the late Edward and Columbus Triche, Isiah Washington and Mary Johnson.Services were June 22 at Greater Bright Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, New Orleans, with interment at Zion Travelers Baptist Cemetery, Lions.
