BARNEY

PAULINA – Albert “Ba-But” Barney, 67, a native of Hester and resident of Gramercy, died May 22. He was the husband of Gloria W. Barney and father of Cheryl Davis, Betty Ferrygood, Linda Nicholas, Vanessa Albert, Billy, Carl, Calvin and Joseph Barney and adopted father of Brianna Ferrygood.He was also the son of the late Albert and Annie Davis Barney.He is also survived by 22 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.Services were May 26 at St. Matthew Baptist Church, Paulina, with interment at Antioch Cemetery, Paulina.BRIGNAC
LAPLACE – Larry Joseph Brignac Sr., 52, a native of Garyville and resident of Poplarville, Miss., for the past four months, died May 26. He was the husband of Carol Gueret Brignac and father of Larry Jr. and Matthew Brignac and stepfather of Shane Champagne, Michele Walker, Melanie Turner and Herbert Champagne Jr.He was also the son of Lawrence and Elaine Acosta Brignac and brother of Cathy Louque, Paulette Descant and the late Chris Brignac.He is also survived by 11 grandchildren.He was a Vietnam War veteran.Services are today at noon in the chapel of Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, LaPlace, with interment at St. John Memorial Gardens. ST. JAMES – Liddie B. Camille, 95, a native of Paintcourtville and resident of St. James, died May 24. She was the wife of the late Wilfred Camille and mother of the late Israel Thomas Sr., Percy Leon and Joseph Lewis.She was also the daughter of the late Jules and Caroline Bergeron. She was preceded in death by four sisters and one brother.She is survived by four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by one grandchild.Services were May 28 at St. Luke Baptist Church, St. James, with interment at the church cemetery.DAVIS
KENNER – Dorothy N. “Dee” Davis, 60, a native of New Orleans and resident of St. Rose for the past 30 years, died May 24. She was the daughter of Doris Newman and the late Edward Newman and sister of Deborah Wilson and Denise Newman.Services were May 26 in the chapel of L.A. Muhleisen & Son Funeral Home, Kenner, with interment at Garden of Memories Cemetery.EVANS
BELLE CHASSE – Rose Holly Bourgeois Evans, 82, a native of Vacherie and resident of Belle Chasse for the past 16 years, died May 26. She was the wife of the late James Robert Evans.She was also the daughter of the late Joseph and Marie Pollet Bourgeois and sister of Henry Bourgeois and the late Sultana Julien, Monique Acosta, Eve Hedges, Alma Simon, Alicia Gravolet, Miriam Brady and Knox, Gates, Lloyd and Onyx Bourgeois.Services are today at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Belle Chasse, with interment at the church cemetery. PARADIS – Dennis George Wedge, 19, a native of New Orleans and resident of Bayou Gauche, died May 25. He was the son of David Sr. and Lori McMullen Wedge and brother of Amanda and David Jr. “D.J.” Wedge.He was also the grandson of Daniel and Dorothy Wedge and Dennis and Jeri McMullen.Services were May 29 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Paradis, with interment at Sunset Cemetery, Bayou Gauche.
