Monica, Palermo to marry May 11

Ronald and Christine Monica of Garyville announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Jessica Ann Monica, to Jared Paul Palermo, son of Vince and Alice Palermo of Reserve. The couple plan to marry May 11 at 7 p.m. at St. Peter Church in Reserve, with a reception to follow at the Marathon Recreation Building in Garyville. The bride-elect, whose mother is the former Christine Ann Ruiz, is a graduate of Riverside Academy. She will continue working at her family’s business, Monica’s Okra World. She is the granddaughter of Audrey Monica of Garyville and the late Joe Monica and Dorothy and Frank Ruiz. The prospective bridegroom, whose mother is the former Alice Joy Trosclair, is a graduate of Riverside Academy. He also attended Delgado Community College in New Orleans, where he received a degree in machine tool technology. He is employed by Quality Fab as a machinist. He is the grandson of Careo Palermo of Reserve, Myrtis Trosclair of Garyville and the late Connie Palermo and Nelson Trosclair. Following a honeymoon trip to Disney World, the couple will reside in Reserve.
