The East Ascension Lady Spartans whipped Hahnville 19-3 before the game was called in the fifth inning, ending a remarkable season for the Lady Tigers on a sour note. The Lady Spartans scored in every inning. Their low point during the day, a one run second inning, was washed away and forgotten as they scored five runs in the third, six runs in the fourth, and three runs in the fifth. The entire day was a low point for Hahnville, as they could only manage one run in the first and two runs in the fourth. Despite fielding three pitchers, the Lady Tigers allowed 17 hits and committed four errors. “I was surprised and shocked,” said Hahnville coach E. J. Tassin. “I think the girls were shocked. I knew who their best hitters were supposed to be, but it didn’t matter who we threw today. The score says it all. They came out hitting.”
