COLLINS
BOUTTE – Leona A. Collins, 89, a resident of Boutte, died April 8. She was the mother of Barbara Gordon and Ellis Collins.She was also the daughter of the late Patsy Moten and Kem Collins and sister of the late Marguarite Medice, Alice Smith and Kemp Collins.She is also survived by nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.Services are today at 11 a.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Boutte, with interment at St. Mary Cemetery, Boutte. Visitation starts at 10 a.m.HALL
RESERVE – Joseph Bert Hall, 60, a native and resident of LaPlace, died April 4. He was the father of Nathaniel, Marie and Malea Hall.He was also the son of Cecile Hall and the late Will Hall and brother of Agnes Hall.He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.He was a retired employee of Monsanto Company and a former St. John the Baptist Parish auxiliary sheriffs deputy.Services were April 9 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Reserve, with interment at St. Peter Mausoleum, Reserve.MAYFIELD
NEW ORLEANS – Ruth A. Mayfield, 95, a native of Hahnville and resident of Baton Rouge, died April 7. She was the wife of the late Antoine Mayfield and mother of the late Elizabeth Haney.She was also the daughter of the late Louise Ferguson and Nelson Auston.She is survived by five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.Services were April 12 at Second Zion Baptist Church, New Orleans, with interment at Bethlehem Cemetery, Hahnville.WALTERS
LAPLACE – Lillian Richoux Walters, 72, a native of Montz and resident of LaPlace for 45 years, died April 11. She was the wife of the late Craig Walters and mother of Cynthia Ziegeler, Mary Simon and David Walters.She was also the daughter of the late Nicholas and Lillian Richoux and sister of the late Amy Duhe, Verlie Walker, Mable Millet and John, Lester, Lynnwood, Ridgely and Robert Richoux.She is also survived by seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.Services are today at 11 a.m. at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, LaPlace, with interment at St. John Memorial Gardens, LaPlace. Visitation starts at 8 a.m.WHITENER
METAIRIE – Robert W. Whitener, 73, a native of Glen Ellyn, Ill., and resident of Destrehan, died April 4. He was the husband of Sally Walsh Whitener and father of Sarah LaVellee and Charles and Scott Whitener.He is also survived by seven grandchildren.He was an Eagle Scout, a captain in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves and also a carpet manufacturer salesman.Services were April 9 in the chapel of George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, Ill.Anterment will be at National Cemetery in Jefferson Barracks, Mo.
