AMBER KELLER

Our loved ones are deserving

We’ve all heard the saying, ” The best things in life are free.” Well, the other day I read that the best things in life are not free! Does everything come at a price? I think so. For example, friendships are some of the best things in life, but they cost something. They cost your time, your effort and your energy. A few weeks ago, I decided that I wasn’t doing enough with my time, so I went to Wal-Mart. At Wal-Mart, I bought a cute little dry-erase board. The board has the days of the month numbered on it. Now, each week, I sit down and fill in each day with the things I need to get accomplished. Every line gets filled with what I consider priorities for the day. You know what, I rarely ever get everything on the board accomplished. Usually, I’ll get interrupted by a phone call or a knock on the door and it will be a friend who wants to spend time with me. Suddenly, the priorities for the day begin to change. Washing my car doesn’t seem like the most important thing anymore. Anything worth having, is worth spending your time on. Our loved ones are deserving of our time! If you have any questions or comments write to me at P.O. Box 1493, LaPlace, LA 70069.
