Fifth St. in LaPlace.Celebrate Recovery, a Christ-centered 12-step program for anyone who is struggling with co-dependency, alcohol and substance abuse, sexual addiction, eating disorders, gambling, etc., is from 7-9 p.m. at Vineyard Christian Fellowship Church, 4224 Williams Blvd. in Kenner. Low cost spay/neuter of cats and dogs of St. Charles Parish residents takes place at the St. Charles Parish Animal Shelter across from Westbank Bridge Park. Qualifying pet owners should arrive by 8 a.m. with pets restrained on a leash or in a carrier. Participants will be accepted on a first come/first serve basis. Pets should not have food or water after 10 p.m. the night before surgery and will go home the same day as surgery. This program is sponsored by Walmart and the St. Charles Humane Society. Registration is required, call 785-9136.

Voting membership is invited to nominate officers of their choice at this time.
Free art classes for St. Charles Parish senior citizens, age 60 and up, are from noon to 3 p.m. at the New Sarpy Senior Citizen Center. The class is taught by local artist and member of the Le Petit Art Guild Edie Corso. Supplies are furnished by St. Charles Parish Parks and Recreation Department.
