BOUTTE – Brad Berthelot gave Hahnville all the goals it would need with a goal in the first two minutes of the play as the Tigers went on to defeat H.L. Bourgeois, 3-0, in non-district play Saturday morning.
Hahnville got on the board as Brad Guillory centered a pass to Shawn Mire. Mire then tapped a pass to Berthelot who sailed in a shot past Bourgeois goalie Jonathan Bergeron for a 1-0 lead at the two-minute mark.
Five minutes later, Hahnville threatened again as Mire took a pass in the left corner but had his shot hit the side of the net. Bourgeois took possession with Brandon Weeks having his shot knocked down in front of the net.
A minute later, Chad Boudreaux crossed a pass to Guillory whose shot was grabbed by Bergeron. Adam Bordelon then sent a pass ahead to Guillory whose shot was again knocked away by Bergeron at the 15-minute mark. A pass ahead from Guillory set up a shot by Adrian Sorapuru that Bergeron again grabbed five minutes later.
The Braves threatened a minute later Nick Valdes took a pass from Brian Theriot but had it sail wide left. Matt Valdes then took a shot that was grabbed by Hahnville goal keeper Matt Cummins.
At the 31-minute mark, Matt Valdes sent a pass ahead to Bradley Landry. Landry chased it down but could only tap it toward the goal with Cummins making the save. Nick Valdes then took a corner kick that was deflected to Matt Valdes whose shot sailed wide.
Hahnville then moved in again as Mire sent a pass in to Guillory whose shot was deflected wide. Guillory then tapped a pass in to Mire whose shot was Bergeron. Berthelot grabbed a turnover in the Braves zone, cut in from the right touch line and centered a pass to Mire. Mire took the pass in the box and angled a shot into the right side of the net past Bergeron for a 2-0 lead at the 35-minute mark.
Hahnville dominated the early part of the second half. Two minutes in, Boudreaux took a shot off a pass from Berthelot but had it grabbed by Bergeron. Mire then sent a pass ahead to Guillory whose shot hit the left side of the net at the five-minute mark.
Hahnville put the game away at the 32-minute mark as Kerlec took a centering pass from Berthelot and tapped it in the right side of the goal for a 3-0 lead.
