BAYARD

NEW ORLEANS – Kenneth Thomas Bayard, 50, a native of New Orleans, former resident of LaPlace, and resident of New Orleans, died Dec. 10. Hewas the father of Chip, Tom, Blake and Kenny Bayard.

He was also the son of Leo F. Bayard Jr. of New Orleans, and the lateLorraine D’Antoni Bayard of Milesville, and brother of Dianne DeLong and Leo Bayard III, and stepbrother of Deborah Bayard.

He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War and formerpresident of the South Louisiana Dart Association.

Services were held Dec. 12 in the chapel of Jacob Schoen & Son FuneralHome, New Orleans, with interment at St. Roch Cemetery, New Orleans.

CORTEZ

MARKSVILLE – Clifton John Cortez, 66, a native of Kramer, former resident of LaPlace for 28 years, and resident of Effie, died Dec. 19. He was thehusband of Charnelcia Lou Cortez and father of Wanda Chauvin, Karren Madere, Janet Clark, Rachael Chatham, Roger and David Smith, Clifton Jr. andJack Cortez.

He was also the brother of Deanna, Huey, Robert, Jackie and Malcolm Cortez, and the late Marilyn Villeret and Carl Cortez.

He is also survived by 14 grandchildren.

He was a U.S. Army veteran and employed at Dupont Chemical in Reserve for28 years.

Services are today at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Hixon Brothers Chapel,Marksville, with interment at Oak Grove Cemetery, Effie. Visitation starts at8 a.m.

CRISHAM

DESTREHAN – Catherine McGettigan Crisham, 81, a native of Greenside, England, resident of St. Rose for 40 years and resident of LaPlace for fiveyears, died Dec. 16. She was the wife of the late Morgan P. Crisham, andmother of Margaret Planchard, Monica Gremillion, James and John Crisham.

She is also survived by 10 grandchildren.

She was a retired catalog sales representative with Sears, Roebuck & Co.

after 18 years.

Services were held Dec. 18 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church,Destrehan, with interment at the church mausoleum.

FINN

NORCO – Rubin Nathaniel Finn, 76, a native of Hahnville and resident of Norco, died Dec. 10. He was the father of Rubin Gray and Lee Diggs.He was also the son of the late Lucien and Ceola Waters Finn, and brother of Rose Lee White and Melvin Smith Jr.

He is also survived by one grandchild.

Services were held Dec. 19 at Good Hope Baptist Church, Norco, withinterment at Montz Memorial Cemetery, Montz.

GAUTHREAUX

NEW ORLEANS – Ellis Joseph Gauthreaux, 73, a native of St. Rose andresident of River Ridge for 12 years, died Dec. 14. He was the brother ofEloise Simoneux, Lillian Perez, Oscar and Allen Gauthreaux.

Graveside services were held Dec. 15 at St. Patrick Cemetery No. 1, NewOrleans.

HIMEL

PAULINA – Marguerite Nobile Himel, 85, a native and resident of Lutcher, died Dec. 16. She was the wife of Lloyd R. Himel and mother of the late HenryLawrence Himel.

She was also the daughter of the late Lawrence and Catherine Malaspina Nobile, and sister of Angelina Duhe, Annie, Dr. Anthony and Johnny Nobile.Services were held Nov. 18 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, withinterment at the church mausoleum.

OUBRE

NORCO – Joseph Guy Oubre Sr., 72, a native of Vacherie and resident ofLaPlace, died Dec. 15. He was the husband of Bernice Chaisson for 54 yearsand father of Linda Jones, Fredrick, Joseph Jr., Paul, Danny and RobertOubre.

He was also the son of the late Sylvest and Zoline Ockman Oubre, and brother of Enola Mayeux, Emily Lemone, Hilda Gaudin, and the late Hope Lasserre, Lucy Loupe, Beulah, Jean, Nolan and Sylvester Oubre Jr.

He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Services were held Dec. 18 in the chapel of H.C. Alexander Funeral Home,Norco, with interment at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, South Vacherie.

STEIB

RESERVE – Joseph Leo “Choc-a-let” Steib, 72, a native of Vacherie and resident of Reserve, died Dec. 16. He was the husband of Leda Mae TrosclairSteib and father of Kelly Kliebert and Robert “Rusty Bean” Steib.

He was also the son of the late Henry and Octavie Tregre Steib, brother of the late Robert and Leroy Steib, and stepbrother of the late Lois and Daniel Borne.

He is also survived by four grandchildren.

Services were held Dec. 19 at St. Peter Catholic Church, Reserve, withinterment at the church cemetery.

TRAVELER

LUTCHER – Clemontine “Clem” “Big Mama” Turner Traveler, 88, a native and resident of Lutcher, died Dec. 14. She was the wife of the late John TravelerJr., and mother of Mayola Beverly, Walter Sr. and Isaac Traveler, and the lateCarolyn, Mary Lee and Pearly Traveler, and stepmother of the late Alvin Traveler.

She was also the daughter of the late William and Lorena Russell Turner, and sister of Hazel Wallace, John Turner, and the late Ollie, Alvin and Ernest Turner.

She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at King David Baptist Church, Lutcher, withinterment at Antioch Cemetery, Paulina. Visitation starts at 9:30 a.m.

TRICHE

AMA – Alma D. Triche, 89, a native of Vacherie and resident of Ama, diedDec. 12. She was the wife of the late Melvin Triche Sr., and mother of JoyceWright, Lois Williams, Melvin Jr. and Eldridge Triche.She was also the daugther of the late Nathan and Neolie Domino, and sister of Hilton and Wilfred Domino, and the late Ethel Holmes, Thelma Young, Horace and Clinton Domino.

She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Services were held Dec. 19 at St. Mark Catholic Church, Ama, with intermentat Mt. Pilgrim Cemetery, Ama.
