MONTZ – A 43-year-old Montz man died in a one-vehicle accident Wednesdayafternoon on River Road.Paul J. Vickers Jr., of 139 Vickers Lane, was headed north at 5:45 p.m.alongside the west guide levee of the Bonnet Carre Spillway. He was headedtoward Airline Highway when he lost control of his vehicle.The 1999 Pontiac Grand Am left the roadway to the left, traveled through agrassy area beyond the improved shoulder and struck a tree.Vickers was pronounced dead at the scene 6:45 p.m. by Rob Gilder of the St.Charles Parish Coroner’s Office.
