BOURGEOIS
VACHERIE – Anna Mae Hymel Bourgeois, 79, a native and former resident of Wallace and resident of St. Amant, died Oct. 5. She was the wife of the lateElton J. Bourgeois Sr. and mother of Elton Jr. and Francis Bourgeois.She was the daughter of the late Adolphe and Elvina Tregre Hymel. She waspreceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
She is also survived by four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services were Oct. 7 at St. Philip Catholic Church, Vacherie, with intermentat the church mausoleum.
BUTLER
METAIRIE – Yvonne Anderman Butler, 79, a native of St. James and residentof New Orleans, died Oct. 7. She was the wife of the late Charles F. Butler.She was the daughter of the late Emile and Emma Roca Anderman and sister of Noemi Riedl and Doris Landry.
Services were Oct. 9 in the chapel of Lake Lawn Funeral Home, Metairie, withinterment at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.
CLAYTON
LUTCHER – Mary Ann Batiste Clayton, 74, a native of Jefferson Parish and resident of Paulina, died Oct. 3. She was the wife of Charles Clayton Jr.,mother of Charlean Vedol, Hilton Selby, Veranise Brown, Joshua Thomas Jr. and Joseph Breaud and stepmother of Fred Duperclay Sr.
She was also the daughter of the late George Sr. and Foursteina CooperBatiste, sister of Julia Rankin and Elizabeth and George Batiste Jr. andstepsister of Yvonne Jacobs.
She is also survived by 23 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.
Services were Oct. 8 at Israelite Baptist Church, Lutcher, with interment atAntioch Baptist Cemetery, Paulina.
COOK
RESERVE – Lawrence Lee Cook, 64, a native and resident of Reserve, died Oct. 4. He was the father of Alonza and Adrea Webb and Erica and ManuelCook and stepfather of Lynn Hartford.
He was also the brother of Veronica Bailey, Goldie Wilkens and Marie, Arthur, Alvin, Oscar Jr., Henry and Elmo Cook.He is also survived by one grandchild.
Services were Oct. 10 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Reserve, withinterment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.
GENDRON
EDGARD – Floyd Joseph Gendron, 73, a native and resident of Edgard, died Oct. 7. He was the husband of Joyce Champagne Gendron and father ofCheryl Cazenave, Rhonda Breaux, Keith Gendron and the late Cheryl, Dale and Kirk Gendron.
He was also the son of Lisa Landeche Gendron and the late Jules Gendron and brother of Sylvia Boudreaux and Jerry and Virgil Gendron.
He is also survived by six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was a member of American Legion Post 131 in Luling and Woodmen of the World Post 494 in Vacherie.
Services were Oct. 9 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Hahnville, withinterment at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Cemetery, Edgard.
HYMEL
VACHERIE – Eula Catherine Hymel, 82, a native and resident of Vacherie, died Oct. 8. She was the daughter of the late Valain and Aurelie Hymel and sisterof Roland Hymel and the late Elvina Hotard and Hilda, George, Celina, Dervina, Jules, Elise and Francis Hymel Sr.
She is also survived by 34 nieces and nephews.
Services are today at 11:30 a.m. at St. Philip Catholic Church, Vacherie, withinterment at the church mausoleum. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.
MADERE
NEW SARPY – Charles Madere, 82, a native of Norco and resident of New Sarpy for many years, died Sept. 30. He was the husband of Pecolia B.Madere and father of Sherry Howard, Richard Miles and Lester Madere.
He was also the brother of Walter Madere.
He is also survived by 24 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
Services were Oct. 7 at St. Matthew Baptist Church, New Sarpy, withinterment at Providence Memorial Park.
RAMOS
LAPLACE – Marvin O. Ramos, 27, a native of Honduras and resident ofLaPlace for 11 years, died Oct. 3. He was the father of Destiny Ramos.He was also the son of Marta R. Garcia, stepson of Joel Garcia-Castillo andsister of Onoria Ramos de Portillo.
Services were Oct. 6 in the chapel of Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, LaPlace,with interment at St. John Memorial Gardens, LaPlace.
ST. MARTIN
LAPLACE – Lloyd J. St. Martin Sr., 77, a native and resident of LaPlace, diedOct. 8. He was the husband of the late Frances Ockman St. Martin and fatherof Linda Hume, Robin Jennings and Richard, L.J. and Dave St. Martin.He was also the son of the late Nelson and Philonise Catoire St. Martin andbrother of Mary Ruth Babin, Warren St. Martin Sr. and the late Nelson Jr. andHerbert St. Martin Sr.He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services are today at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Millet-Guidry Funeral Home,LaPlace, with interment at St. John Memorial Gardens, LaPlace. Visitationstarts at 8 a.m.
TRAHANT
METAIRIE – Emile J. Trahant Jr., 58, a native of New Orleans and resident ofLaPlace for 33 years, died Oct. 8. He was the husband of Mary HamlinTrahant and father of Mary Ann, Sharon and Yvette Trahant.
He was also the son of the late Emile Sr. and Bessie M. Trahant and brotherof Eugene, Clarence, and the late Lawrence Trahant.
He is also survived by one grandchild.
Services were Oct. 10 in the chapel of Lamana-Panno-Fallo Funeral Home,Metairie, with interment at Lakelawn Mausoleum.
WOODEN
VACHERIE – Agnes Wooden, 77, a native and resident of Vacherie, died Oct.
4. She was the wife of the late Edison Wooden and mother of Claudia Branch,Mary Sterling, Judith Lodge, Peggy Narcisse, Margaret Populus, Carol Whittington, Bertrand and Stanford Wooden and the late Joan Bryant.
She was also the daughter of the late Paul and Rose Dumas and sister of Wilborine Steib, Victorine Simon, Mary Jane Freeman, Celeste James and Hayward, Paul, Anthony, Russell, Whitney and the late Harry and Paul Dumas.
Services were Oct. 9 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, South Vacherie,with interment at the church cemetery.
