Pro ball coming to Keller

LAPLACE – While residents in southern Louisiana keep an eye on Hurricane Keith, another group of hurricanes will be in St. John the Baptist ParishSaturday.
The St. John Parish Louisiana Hurricanes of the National American FootballLeague will play host to the Louisiana Gators Saturday night at Joe Keller Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.The Hurricanes are currently 7-2 and ranked eighth in the nation. They arealso in the hunt for the Southwest Gulf Division title, a half-game back of Gulf Coast and Memphis. The Gators enter the game with a 3-6 record.There is also a possibility the Hurricanes could play a playoff game at Keller.
The wild card playoffs begin Oct. 14.Admission to Saturday’s game is $6 for adults and $3 with a student ID.
Coach’s passes and teacher’s faculty passes will also be honored.
“I’m real excited about out here in front of the home crowd,” Hurricanes center Rick Rando, a River Parishes native and a graduate of St. CharlesCatholic High School, said. “I’m definitely ready to play in front of somepeople I know.”
