LAPLACE – Even though the weekend got off to a breezy start, a weather condition not favored by tennis players, the temperature had cooled enough to allow for a mostly pleasant weekend of tennis at Belle Terre Country Club. The annual Member/Member, Member/Guest event this year wasorganized and conducted by Belle Terre tennis pro Jason Pinholster, who was assisted by his wife, Kim.

The tournament was an attraction for the female members and consisted of two divisions, A and B. In the A Division, Ormond Country Club playersMaria Lambert and Cindy Hines won over runners-up Elaine Gaille and Meg Spatz of Belle Terre. Winners in the A Consolation group were SusanFaucheux of Belle Terre and her guest, Terry Cangelosi of Baton Rouge.

Playing them in that final were Diane Tatje and Karen Accardo of Belle Terre.

B Division winners were Debbie Jeffcoat and guest Yvette Gauthreaux of LaPlace over Belle Terre members Amy Gros and Jane Roussel. NatalieTatje and Rhonda Rutledge won the B Division Consolation over finalists Ellen Trosclair of Belle Terre and guest Jennifer Loupe of Riverlands.

Breakfast, lunch and refreshments were available all day in the tennis clubhouse on Saturday, provided by Kim Pinholster. Winners and runners-upin both divisions were awarded prizes upon completion of the tournament on Sunday morning.
