MARTIN PONCHATOULA – James Cluis Martin, 58, a native of Heidelburg, Miss., formerresident of LaPlace and resident of Ponchatoula for seven years, died Sept.
1. He was the husband of Elaine Martin, father of Marcel and Maurice Martinand stepfather of Tessa and Jonathan Hebert.
He is also survived by five brothers, five sisters and one grandchild.
He was an assistant manager for Archer Daniels Midland Co., a missionary toAfrica and an elder for the Jehovah’s Witnesses Ponchatoula congregation.
Services will be announced at a later date.
NERI HAHNVILLE – Bernice E. Neri, 76, a native of Niagra Falls, N.Y., and resident ofHahnville for 37 years, died Sept. 1. She was the wife of the late Val Neri,and mother of Valerie Rodrigue and Jeffrey Neri.
She was also the daughter of the late Pete and Rose Evangelist and sister of the late Eugenia Giancola.
She is also survived by one grandchild.
Services were Sept. 4 at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church,Hahnville, with interment at St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery, Destrehan.
ST. PIERREEDGARD – Annette Simon St. Pierre, 89, a native of Vacherie and resident ofEdgard for 64 years, died Aug. 31. She was the wife of the late Roger St.Pierre Sr. and mother of Roger Jr. and the late Rodney St. Pierre Sr.She was also the daughter of the late Ruffin and Herminie F. Simon andsister of the late Earisie Schexnayder and Lionel, Megilde, Dano, Horace and Ruffin Simon.
She is survived by four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She waspreceeded in death by one grandchild.
Services were Sept. 2 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Edgard, withinterment at the church cemetery.
TUDURY METAIRIE – Mildred Tudury, 78, a native of Birmingham, Ala., and resident ofLaPlace for 19 years, died Aug. 30. She was the mother of Libby Cox andTony and Charles Earley.
She was also the sister of Margaret McMurray.
She is also survived by several grandchildren.
Services will be announced at a later date.
WHATLEY DECATUR, TEXAS – Marie Hanna Whatley, 51, a native of Reserve and resident of Decatur, Texas, died Aug. 29. She was the mother of Lauren,Zack, Hanna and Michael Whatley.
She was also the daughter of the late Rose Mary Hanna and the sister of Roseanne Ebner, Linda Sipos and Robin Triche.
Services were held Sept. 1 in Decatur, Texas.
