CUTNO LUTCHER – Alma Williams Cutno, 73, a native of Burnside and resident of Lutcher, died Aug. 27. She was the mother of Linda Cutno.She was also the daughter of the late Brozie and Rose Fowler Williams, sister of the late Pearl, Robert and Hayward Williams and step-sister of Joseph Owens.
Services were Sept. 1 at King David Baptist Church, Lutcher, with intermentat Hopeful Baptist Cemetery, Hilliaryville.
JOHNSON RESERVE – Sharon A. “Froggie” Johnson, 34, a native and resident ofReserve, died Aug. 24. She was the mother of Ivaneka and Trey Johnson.She was also the daughter of Earnest and Odetta Johnson and sister of Yolanda Mason and Joann Johnson.
Services were Aug. 31 at Zion Travelers Baptist Church, Lions, withinterment at the church cemetery.
MARTIN LAPLACE – Richard Allen “Tricky Dick” Martin, 47, a native and resident of LaPlace, died Aug. 26. He was the husband of Catherine Martin and father ofRondell Batiste, Richonda Monroe, Joycelyn Boyd and RaQuen and Richard Martin.
He was also the brother of Melba Bovie and Mary Ann, Larry, Earnest, Ricky and Wayne Martin.
He is also survived by five grandchildren.
Services were Saturday at 11 a.m. at Milesville Memorial Church of God inChrist, LaPlace, with interment at Antioch Cemetery, Paulina. Visitationstarts at 10 a.m.
MILLET RESERVE – Joseph “J.D.” Millet, 60, a native and resident of Reserve, diedAug. 28. He was the stepfather of Charlotte Cardon, Brian Leathers, CherylDuet and Asa Leathers and companion of Shirley Millet.
He was also the son of Dennis and Louise V. Millet and brother of ClarenceMillet.
He is also survived by nine step-grandchildren.
Services were Aug. 31 at St. Peter Church, Reserve, with interment at thechurch cemetery.
MILLS NEW ORLEANS – Willie May “Rosemary” Myles Mills, 71, a native of Houma and resident of St. Rose, died Aug. 25. She was the wife of Johnnie Lee Mills Sr.and mother of Dionne Smith and Tyrone, Steven, Herman and Daryl Mills.
She was also the stepdaughter of Olivia Height and sister of Lillian Thomas, Octavia Jenkins, Nida Campbell, Hattie Craft, Eunice Nero and Sylvester Ruffin.
She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services were Sept. 1 at Pressing Onward Baptist Church, New Orleans, withinterment at Restlawn Park Cemetery, Avondale.
MIRE MARRERO – Gus F. Mire Jr., 82, a native of Union and resident of Marrero,died Aug. 30. He was the husband of Verline Trosclair Mire and father ofMaxine Smart and Phyllis Wilkinson.
He was also the son of the late Gus Sr. and Jeanne Marie Rider Mire andbrother of the late Marine Pertuit, Jessie Breaux, Juliet Bush and Clay, John, Roy, Paul “Numa” and Claude Mire.
He is also survived by two grandchildren.
Services were Sept. 1 in the chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, Marrero, withinterment at Westlawn Memorial Park.
PIERRE BOUTTE – Jessica Marie Pierre, 17, a native and resident of Boutte, died Aug.
28. She was the daughter of Alton Ingram and the late Darlene Pierre Braggsand sister of Teonka Duncan and Deanna Pierre.
She was also the grandchild of Orella Pierre and Rayfield Johnson.
Services were Saturday at 11 a.m. at Mt. Airy Baptist Church, Boutte, withinterment at Mt. Airy Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation starts at 9:30a.m.
SHAVEN KILLONA – Lillian “Cousin Lil” Shaven, 80, a resident of Killona, died Aug. 25.She was the wife of the late Louis Shaven and mother of Roland Strickland.
She was also the daughter of the late Thomas Hunter and sister of Thomas Hunter and the late Ruth Gordon and Isaac, Willis and James Hunter.
She is also survived by five grandchildren.
Services were Saturday at 11 a.m. at Children of Israel Baptist Church,Killona, with interment at Greenhill Cemetery, Taft. Visitation starts at 10a.m.
