BRADY NORCO – Katherine Chafin Brady, a native of Delbarton, W. Va., and residentof Norco, died Aug. 15. She was the wife of Donald J. Brady and mother ofDonald Jeff Brady.
She was also the sister of Mary Smock and Kenneth, Gerald and W. FredChafin.
She is also survived by two grandchildren.
Services were Aug. 17 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Norco,with interment at St. Charles Borromeo Mausoleum, Destrehan.
DAROUSE (w/PHOTO) RESERVE – Alyssa Nicole Darouse, 2 months, a resident of Reserve, died Aug. 15. She was the daughter of Jeremy and Billie Jo Darouse and sisterof Chasity Darouse.
She was also the grandchild of Gerald and Janet Darouse and Joseph and Robin Stout.
Graveside services were Aug. 18 at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Reserve.
GARLAND KENNER – Joshua Brent Garland, 18, a native and resident of St. Rose, diedAug. 12. He was the son of Murray and Anita Monk Garland and brother ofMarie Kingsmill and Lauren and Lacey Garland and stepbrother of Lisa and the late Michelle Squatrito.
He was also the grandchild of Beulah Garland, J.D. and Juanita Monk and thelate Oray Garland.
He was a recent graduate of Southeast College of Technology.
Services were Aug. 18 in the chapel of L.A. Muhleisen & Son Funeral Home,Kenner, with interment at Jefferson Memorial Gardens.
HEBERT PARADIS – Anne Dufrene Hebert, 41, a native and resident of Paradis, died Aug 15. She was the wife of Aubrey Hebert and mother of Rechelle andChristopher Hebert.
She was also the daughter of Myrtle Naquin and sister of Elaine Duckworth and Ricky and Davis Lewis.
She is also survived by one grandchild.
Services were Aug. 18 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Paradis,with interment at Mennonite Cemetery, Des Allemands.
HOTARD LAPLACE – Daphne Hebert Hotard, 51, a native of Lafayette and resident of LaPlace for 14 years, died Aug. 17. She was the wife of Henry Hotard Jr.,mother of Jason Hoing and stepmother of Michelle Hotard and GiGi Arcuri.
She was also the daughter of D.J. “Bobby” Jr. and Dorothy G. Hebert, sisterof Karen Guidry, Tressie Kent and Cyndie and Karyl “Joey” Hebert and stepmother of Michelle Hotard and Gigi Arcuri.
Services are today at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Millet-Guidry Funeral Home,LaPlace, with interment at St. John Memorial Gardens, LaPlace. Visitationstarts at 8 a.m.
KEYS LUTCHER – Neomi Ursin “Duchess” Keys, 97, a native and resident of Lutcher, died Aug. 13. She was the daughter of Joseph and Eulia TravilleUrsin and sister of Melvina Carey, Florence Noel, Alma Ursin, Nolan Keys and Herbert and Oliver Ursin Sr.
Services are today at 11 a.m. at King Solomon Baptist Church, Lutcher,with interment at Golden Wreath Cemetery, Lutcher. Visitation starts at9:30 a.m.
OUBRE LUTCHER – Judy T. Oubre, 53, a native of Garyville and resident of LaPlace,died Aug. 14. She was the fiancee’ of David Ramey and mother of TracyDelatte, Holly Bordelon and Shannon and James Oubre.
She was also the sister of Patricia Malbrough and Harry Troxlair Jr.
She is also survived by 15 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by onegrandchild.
Services were Aug. 17 in the chapel of Alexander Funeral Home, Lutcher,with interment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.
ROSS ST. ROSE – Ruth Ross, 72, a native of Independence and resident of St.Rose, died Aug. 15. She was the wife of the late Frank Ross Sr. and motherof Joann Singleton, Carrie Williams, Elizabeth Breur, Penny Augillard, Cathy Vinnett and Febie, Frank, Darrell, Freddie, Johnny, Charles and Bob Ross.
She was also the daughter of the late Rev. Willie and Carrie Singleton andsister of Joann East and Albert, George, Freddie and the Rev. GilbertSingleton.
She is also survived by 29 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Services are today at 9 a.m. at Fifth African Baptist Church, St. Rose, withinterment at Rocky Hill Cemetery, Hillsdale.
TASSIN (w/PHOTO) RESERVE – Larry Tassin, 55, a native and resident of Reserve, died Aug. 14.He was the father of Dawn Tassin Reed and Timothy and Kevin Tassin.
He was also the son of Eunice and the late Norbert Tassin and brother of Patricia Tassin Ocmond and Paul and Donald Tassin.
He is also survived by one grandchild.
He was a U.S. Army veteran who served in Vietnam.Services were Aug. 18 at St. Peter Catholic Church, Reserve, withinterment at the church cemetery.
TRICHE AMA – Howard J. Triche Sr., 82, a native and resident of Ama, died Aug. 15.He was the husband of the late Myrtle Songy and father of Serda Collins, Joval Walker, Marilyn Diggs, Alfreda Lundy, Cassandra Comminie, Fontaine Triche and the late Virginia Williams, Melissa Clark and Howard Triche Jr.
He was also the son of the late Arthur and Anna Friloux Triche and brother of Malcolm Triche and the late Dora Lebeauf, Thelma Clark and Lillian, Anna Mae, Melvin Sr., Earl Sr., Rayfield, Mallard and Warren Triche.He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services are today at 10 a.m. at St. Mark Catholic Church, Ama, withinterment at Holy Rosary Cemetery, Taft. Visitation starts at 8:30 a.m.
WHILLEY NEW ORLEANS – Deborah Pierre Whilley, 92, a native of Montz and resident of New Orleans for 75 years, died Aug. 14. She was the daughter of thelate Ferdinand and Julia Alexander Pierre and sister of Herman J. Pierre.Services were Aug. 18 at Phillips Memorial United Methodist Church, NewOrleans, with interment at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Reserve.
