DEAR EDITOR: Wow! The benefit golf classic for Patti Poirrier was a huge success and to say thanks just doesn’t seem enough. The word is out and, yes, it istrue. The golf classic has deposited over $82,000. The overall responsewas unbelievable and so very overwhelming for the families, relatives and friends of Patti.

At this time, the golf committee, along with Patti’s family, extends their sincerest thank-you to everyone involved – the 360 golfers who weathered the hot, humid day and the not-so-fast round of golf; the 30 $500 corporate sponsors, the 240 $100 hole sponsors, and the many, many items donated toward the raffles and prizes.

Thanks also to the ladies who made tables of homemade sweets and to the local chefs who prepared an enormous array of food throughout the event.

To the many businesses who donated drinks, food and paper products – thank you. And to the volunteer workers who kept the event rolling fromdawn until night – couldn’t have done it without your help. Thanks to thePelican Point Country Club staff who did an outstanding job in managing this large number of golfers and socail attendees.

The River Parishes communities have once again pulled together and proved their unselfish assistance to a local resident. May God bless eachof you and your families abundantly.
