LaPlace hosting district games

LAPLACE – LaPlace Little League (formerly NOAH) is playing host to two district tournaments over the next two weeks.
The 7-8-year-old (machine pitch) baseball district tournament began last night and will continue till tomorrow. LaPlace played Bogalusa last nightand the winner of that game will play the winner of the Avoyelles AM- Marksville game today at 1 p.m. on field four. The losers of those firstgames will also play today at 1 p.m. on field two. The winner of the second round game will play the survivor of the losers’ bracket in the championship game tomorrow at 2 p.m. on field four. If asecond game is necessary, it will be played at 5 p.m. on field four. Thestate tournament will be held in Marksville beginning July 7.
LaPlace Little League will also host the 11-12 age group’s district tournament July 7-14. LaPlace plays Marksville in the first round on fieldthree Saturday at 5 p.m. The winner of that game will play the winner ofPilney and Bogalusa (Saturday at 5 p.m. on field four) in the second roundSunday on field two at 5 p.m. In the other bracket, the winner of AvoyellesNational and Baker (Friday, 5 p.m., field one) will play the winner of MidParish and Avoyelles American (Friday, 5 p.m. field two) in the secondround Sunday at 5 p.m. on field four.Second round winners will meet Tuesday, July 11, on field four at 5 p.m.The championship game is scheduled for Thursday, July 13 at 5 p.m. onfield four. If a second game is necessary, it will be played Friday, July 14,at 5 p.m. on field four. The state tournament will be in Bunkie beginning July 21.
