GUMINA
NORCO – Felix Samuel Gumina Sr., 55, a native of New Orleans and resident ofNorco, died April 21. He was the husband of July McAnnally Gumina, father ofFelix Jr. and Scott Gumina and stepfather of Malcolm A. Meadows III.He was also the son of the late Salvador and Gladys Gumina and brother of Jane Ann Bergeron.
Services were held April 25 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Norco, with private interment.
HOLLIS
MABEN, Miss. – Sherrie Lee Hollis, 36, a native of Lutcher and resident ofMaben, Miss., died April 24. She was the mother of Ryan and Rush Perkins. She was also the daughter of Sarah Pearson Awtrey and step-daughter of Jim Awtrey. She was also the sister of David Wayne, Ricky Hollis andChassidy Awtrey.
Services will be today at 11 a.m. at Lollars Grove Baptist Church, Mathiston,Miss., with interment in the church cemetery.
SCHNYDER
LOS ANGELES – Leo “Johnny” Schnyder, 58, a native of Reserve and resident of Los Angeles for the past 40 years, died April 17. He was the husband ofJuliet Schnyder and father of Leo, Derek, Preston, Christopher, Kenyatta and Michael Schnyder.
He was also the son of the late Pierre and Edna Schnyder and brother of Allen, Paul, Nicholas, Marjorie, Evangeline, Gregory and Ronald Schnyder.
He was also survived by three grandchildren.
Services were held April 24 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Reserve, with interment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.
SMITH
NEW ORLEANS – Elizabeth Tassin Smith, 76, a native of Mt. Airy and residentof New Orleans for the past 70 years, died April 16. She was the mother ofDola A. Jones and the late Calvin Tassin.She was also the daughter of the late Edward Tassin Sr. and ClementineWilson, stepdaughter of the late Eddie Wilson and sister of Edward Tassin Jr.,Eunice Jackson, Marguerite Boutte and Eddiemae Young.
She is also survived by three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services were held April 24 at St. John Institutional Missionary BaptistChurch, New Orleans, with interment at St. Louis Cemetery No. 3, NewOrleans.
WILLIAMS
LAPLACE – Kenneth Gerard Williams, 40, a native of New Orleans and resident of LaPlace for the past year, died April 18. He was the father of JoshuaJones and step-father of Jason Jones.
He was also the son of John and Deloris Williams and brother of Gail Collins, Andrienne Dunbar, Glenn Williams and the late Jean Alfred.
Services were held April 24 at Oakland Baptist Church, Kenner, with interment at Love and Charity Cemetery, Kenner.
