CLAY ST. ROSE – Labertha Robertson Clay, 58, a native of Norco and a resident ofSt. Rose for the past 41 years, died April 14. She was the wife of JosephClay Sr. and mother of Joseph Clay III, Joseph Clay Jr., Darlene Robert,Melanie Clay and Sheila Willis.
She was also the sister of Alfred Robertson, Albertha Bailey and Lucille Richard.
She is also survived by 16 grandchildren.
Services are today at 11 a.m. at Fifth African Baptist Church, St. Rose, withinterment at Reslawn Park Cemetery, Avondale. Visitation begins at 10 a.m.
COOPER LONG BEACH, Miss. – Mercedes Jeanne Abadie Cooper, 79, native of Wallaceand resident of Long Beach, Miss. for the past three years, died April 13. She was the mother of Jack, James, Robert and Daniel Cooper, Janice Jenkins, Theresa Adam, Frances Blondiau and Malanie Alario.
She was also the sister of Melvin, Clifford and Erroll Abadie, Lucille Dupepe, Dorthy Louviere, Grace Pitre, Clara Baudoin, Carmen McDonald and Aurora Dickerson.
She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services were held April 15 at Mothe Funeral Home, Marrero with interment at Restlawn Park Cemetery, Avondale.
LANIER LULING – Lisa Bordelon Lanier, 37, a native of Metairie and resident of Luling for the past 13 years, died April 17. She was the wife of Jamie W. Lanier andmother of Lindsey Alexis Lanier and Jarin August Lanier.
She was also the daughter of Harriett and Malcolm Bordelon.
She was also the granddaughter of Orney and Eva Kelly.
Services are today at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, Luling, withentombment at St. Charles Mausoleum, Luling. Visitation begins at 9 a.m.
MAURIN LAPLACE – Roland J. “Bolo” Maurin, 73, native and resident of LaPlace, diedApril 16. He was the husband of Gloria Laiche Maurin and father of R.J., Chrisand Caroly Maurin.
He was also the son of the late Sidney and Pauline Maurin.
He is survived by three grandchildren.
Services are today at 10 a.m. at St. Joan of Arc Church, LaPlace, withinterment at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Reserve. Visitation begins at 8 a.m.
PRICE BATON ROUGE – Ethel Kemp Price, 69, native of St. Rose and resident ofBaton Rouge, died April 10. She was the wife of the late Oscar Price andmother of Brenda Jones and the late Diane Allen.
She was also the sister of Constance “Joyce” K. Evans and Joseph Kemp.She is also survived by four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services were held April 16 at Greater St. James Baptist Church, BatonRouge, with interment in Port Hudson National Cemetery.
