BORNE EDGARDVictoria “Vickie” Smith Borne, 65, a native and resident of Edgard, died Jan. 21. She was the wife of the late Morris S. Borne and mother ofIngrid, Christina, Nathaniel Barnes and Gidget and Randall Borne. She was alsothe guardian of Jacqueline Lumar and Enix Smith Jr.
She was also the daughter of the late Rev. L.C. Sr. and Victoria H. Smith andsister of Elsie Mullen, Fannie Lewis, Joseph, Landry Jr., Arthur Sr., Jessel Sr.,Mildred Smith and the late Earline Johnson, Hazel Landry and Lawrence, Enix, Ellis and Richard Smith.
She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services were held Jan. 25 at New Jerusalem Baptist Church, Edgard, withinterment at the church cemetery.
GIGLIO DESTREHANJohn J. “Johnny” Giglio Sr., 60, a native of St. Rose, formerresident of Harahan and resident of Bush, died Jan. 20. He was the husbandof Jerry Frabbiele Giglio and father of Anna Marie, John Jr., Manuel “Doozie”and Roy Giglio.
He was also the son of Leona Mistretta Giglio and the late Emmanuel Giglio and brother of Mary Messonier and Victor, Emanuel, Joseph and Fay Ann Giglio.
He is also survived by two grandchildren.
Services were held Jan. 21 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church,Destrehan, with interment at the church cemetery.
GORDON METAIRIEGeorgiana “Jay” Rome Gordon, 75, a native of Vacherie and resident of Metairie, died Jan. 23. She was the wife of the late ThomasWeaver Gordon and mother of Cathy Trocquet and Thomas Jr., Douglas andPatrick Gordon.
She was also the sister of Ruby Barrios and Mildred Harrison.
She is also survived by nine grandchildren.
Services are today at St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church, Metairie,with interment at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation starts at 8 a.m.
GUIDRY LUTCHERLewis J. Guidry, 83, a native and resident of Lutcher, died Jan. 24.He was the husband of Mary Ann Porteous Guidry and father of Beverly Balhoff, Sandra Balhoff, Andrea Balhoff, Georgette Viteri and Janelle Millet.
He was also the son of the late Louis and Georgine Guidry and brother of Gladys Arceneaux, Rita Mae Ory and the late Evelyn Millet and Agnes, Reynolds and Alden Guidry.
He is also survived by 18 grandchildren.
Services are today at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Chapel,Lutcher, with interment at St. Joseph Mausoleum, Paulina. Visitation startsat 9 a.m.
HUTCHINSON KENTWOODDorris Udean Lilly Hutchinson, 79, a native of Kentwood, former resident of Good Hope and New Sarpy and resident of Destrehan, died Jan.
21. She was the wife of the late Preston Bond Hutchinson and mother ofJacqueline Robert and the late Mabel Babin.
She was also the daughter of the late James and Clara Varnado Lilly and sister of Velma Hendry and the late Mabel Ryan and Curtis Lilly.
She is also survived by four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Shewas preceded in death by two grandchildren.
Services were held Jan. 24 in the chapel of McKneely Funeral Home,Kentwood, with interment at Tangipahoa Cemetery.
VERON LUTCHERCamilla Landry Oubre Veron, 82, a native of Dutchtown and resident of Lutcher, died Jan. 23. She was the wife by first marriage of thelate Wilbert “Dooley” Oubre and by second marriage of the late Edgar J.
“Hickey” Veron and mother of Sandra Sotile, Wanda Milano, Shelby Oubre, Carl Oubre, Roxanne “Cookie” Skias and Rachelle Oubre and step-mother of Mary Grace Wolcott and Mary Ann Sebby.
She was also the daughter of the late Anselm and Lena Landry and sister of Adele Denoux, Fernand Landry and the late Rose Prevost, Dorothy, Francis and Norbert Landry Sr.
She is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services were held Jan. 25 at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Chapel, Lutcher,with interment at St. Joseph Mausoleum, Paulina.
