ALFRED KENNER – Jean Ellen Williams Alfred, 50, a native of New Orleans, a former resident of Kenner and resident of LaPlace for the past year, died Jan. 13. She was the mother of Demetries Bland and John Williams Sr.She was also the daughter of John Jr. and Deloris J . Williams and sister ofGail Collins, Adrienne Dunbar and Glenn and Kenneth Williams.

She is also survived by three grandchildren and six step-grandchildren.

Services were held Jan. 17 at Oakland Baptist Church, Kenner, withinterment at Love & Charity Cemetry.

BRACK RESERVE – Sidney Joseph Brack, 90, a native of Vacherie and resident of Reserve for 73 years, died Jan. 6. He was the husband of the late AliscaBecnel Brack and father of Loyce Ann Vicknair, Diana Larousse and Leroy Brack.

He was also the son of the late Numa and Emma Kilbert Brack.

He is also survived by nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Services were held Jan. 8 at St. Peter Catholic Church, Reserve, withinterment at the church cemetery.

DONALDSON NORCO – Roy M. “Cookie” Donaldson Sr., 73, a native of Good Hope andresident of Norco, died Jan. 15. He was the husband of Mary JenkinsDonaldson and father of Debbie Botts, Milda “Sissy” Seal and Roy “Bimbo” Donaldson Jr.

He was also the son of the late Felix and Milda Hernandez Donaldson and brother of Elaine Falgout, Harold and Warren Donaldson and the late Gladys Schexnayder and Gerald “Jack” and Marion Donaldson.

He is also survived by nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was retired from GATX after 40 years and was former Commander of American Legion Spillway Post 195.

Services were held Jan. 18 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church,Norco, with interment at St. Charles Borromeo Mausoleum, Destrehan.

DORSEY BOUTTE – Jake Dorsey, 89, a native and resident of Boutte, died Jan. 15. Hewas the husband of the late Kattie Dorsey and father of Jake Jr. and RuthDorsey.

He was also the son of the late Sam and Priscilla Smith Dorsey and brother of the Rev. John and Jane Dorsey and the late Pearl Turner, LouiseSumler, Emily Hill and Hannibal, Sam, Charles and Dora Dorsey.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Boutte, withinterment at St. Mary Cemetery, Boutte. Visitation starts at 10 a.m.

EDLER LAPLACE – Catherine D. Edler, 68, a native of Plaucheville and resident ofLaPlace, died Jan. 14. She was the wife of the late Roy Edler and mother ofSusanne Lamaster, Phyllis Cormack, Cheryl Dugas, Annette Cosme and Faye, Randy, Barry, Roy Jr. and Danny Edler.She was also the daughter of Adele Lacour Whitfield and the late Elton Whitfield and sister of Berniece Nickalson, Clydine Coyle, Florence Guzman, Janice Cochran, Willie, Ray and Wayne Whitfield and the late E.J.and Fay Whitfield.

She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services were held Jan. 18 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, LaPlace,with interment at St. John Memorial Gardens, LaPlace.

LANDRY ST. JAMES – Earnestine Victor Landry, 90, a native of New Orleans andresident of St. James, died Jan. 13. She was the wife of the late Rev.Ernest Landry and mother of Mary Woodfork, Dianne Lawrence, Virginia Geason, Deloris Bailey and Rose, Barbara, Israel Sr., the Rev. Adam, theRev. Walter and the late Leonard Landry.She was also the daughter of the late Harrison and Clara Mitchell Victor.

She is also survived by 28 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Services were held Jan. 17 at Peaceful Zion Baptist Church, St. James,with interment at Moonshine Acres, St. James.

LANDRY VACHERIE – Ulger F. Landry, 89, a native of Chackbay and resident ofVacherie, died Jan. 15. He was the husband of Edianne Brock Landry andfather of Rose Falgoust, Gloria Boe and Dorothy Guillot.

He was also the son of the late Froizin and Laiza Trosclair Landry and brother of Lillian Caillouet, Foster Landry and the late Frazine Rodrigue and Louis, Valmont, Luke, Amelius and Wilson Landry.

He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Services were held Jan. 17 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Vacherie,with interment at the church cemetery.

MACK NEW ORLEANS – Benny Mack, 84, a native of Taft and resident of New Orleans, died Jan. 12. He was the husband of Marion McKeever Mack andfather of Barbara Clemmer and Henry Sr., the Rev. Charles and the lateMilton Mack.

He was also the son of the late George and Alice Williams Mack and brother of the late Edison Mack.

He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Hewas preceded in death by one grandchild.

Services were held Jan. 18 at St. Matthews Baptist Church No. 2, NewOrleans, with interment at Providence Memorial Park.

MADERE LAPLACE – Virginia Vicknair Madere, 84, a native and resident of LaPlace, died Jan. 14. She was the wife of the late Earlis Madere and mother ofPatricia Keating and the late Janice Margavio.

She was also the sister of Margaret Jouty, Clara Ancale, Jeanne Hymel, Delaune Vicknair and the late Jeffery, Ambrose, Henry and Rose Vicknair.

She is also survived by five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services were held Jan. 17 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, LaPlace,with interment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.

ONCALE LAPLACE – Janice Ockman Oncale, a native of Vacherie and resident of St.

John Parish, died Jan. 17. She was the wife of Paul J. Oncale and mother ofTracy Luminais, Trina Luminais and Trudy Trepagnier.

She was also the daughter of the late Charles and Amy Ockman and sister of Hazel Tamplain, Ruby Brignac, Marion Keating and the late Francis St. Martin.

She is also survived by four grandchildren.

Services are today at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Millet-Guidry Funeral Home,LaPlace, with interment at St. John Memorial Gardens, LaPlace. Visitationstarts at 8 a.m.

RAGAS LUTCHER – Thomas A. Ragas Jr., 62, a native of New Orleans and residentof Lutcher, died Jan. 13. He was the husband of Dianna Aiena Ragas andfather of Tracy Davis, Allison Luke and Thomas P., Kevin and Jon Ragas.He was also the son of the late Thomas Sr. and Louise Yuratich Ragas andbrother of JoAnn Scarabin, Arnold and Bruce Ragas and the late Jocelyn Zebick and Gene Ragas.

He is also survived by eight grandchildren.

Services were held Jan. 15 at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Chapel, Lutcher,with interment at St. Joseph Mausoleum, Paulina.

SCLAFANI KENNER – Victoria “Butsie” Sagona Sclafani, 76, a native of New Orleans and resident of LaPlace for nine years, died Jan. 16. She was the wife ofthe late William Sclafani and mother of Barbara Foret, Kathleen Breaux, Charles Sr. and Billy Sclafani.She was also the sister of Angela Dellinger, Robert and Henry Sagona and the late Louis, Fano and Jimmy Sagona.

She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Services are today at 1 p.m. in the chapel of L.A. Muhleisen & Son FuneralHome, Kenner, with interment at Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitationstarts at 10 a.m.

THOMAS ST. JAMES – Isreal “Butt” Thomas, 72, a native and resident of St. James,died Jan. 16. He was the husband of Geraldine Oubre Thomas and father ofMary Thomas-Thomas, Linda Winchester, Gregory and Isreal Thomas and the late Gwendolyn Thomas.

He was also the son of Liddie Camille and the late Wilfred Camille and brother of Danny Small, Joyce Mitchell, Doris Thomas, Mary Ann Watkins and the late Percy Leon.

He is also survived by five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services are today at noon at St. Luke Baptist Church, St. James, withinterment at St. Philip Cemetery, Vacherie. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.

TRUMBACH METAIRIE – Leonor Maldonado Trumbach, 74, a native of Belize and resident of Destrehan for eight years, died Jan. 15. She was the wife of the lateLouis A. Trumbach and mother of Patricia Gulley, Francine Sheffield,Natalie Hymel and Denis, Louis, Paul and the late Angela Trumbach.

She was also the daughter of Nicolas Maldonado and Graciana Valdez and sister of Lucila, Francisca, Bina, Inez, Teles and the late Jovita, Lita and Manuel Maldonado and Graciana Valdez.

She is also survived by seven grandchildren.

Services were held Jan. 18 in the chapel of Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home,Metairie, with interment at Jefferson Memorial Gardens.
