There will be magic in the air this weekend when Theatre Magic and Co.
presents Neil Simon’s “The Female Odd Couple” in the St. Peter Schoolauditorium in Reserve.
Performances are scheduled for Sept. 23, 24 and 25 at 7:30 p.m.Playing Florence Ungar and Olive Madison are Kay Reeve and Suzette Hullette.
You may remember them as the kooky Pigeon sisters from the St. JohnTheater production of “The Odd Couple” two years ago. In the femaleversion of the hit, which is directed by Eric Labranche, Reeve will play the neat freak Florence with Hullette portraying the slob from the original production.
“The women will be playing Trivial Pursuit in the opening scene instead of poker,” says Hullette.
The cast of game players includes Donna Conran as Vera, Vicky Gennaro as Sylvie, Lynn Jamieson as Micky and Dorinda Folse as Renee.
Veteran actors Mike Brooks and Cliff Vashaw have been cast as the Costazuela brothers, Hispanic counterparts to the original Pigeon sisters.
Theatre Magic says the show, set in New York in the early 1980s, is guaranteed to have you laughing in the aisles.
Hullette, along with another theater enthusiast, started Theatre Magic & Co. two years ago. Since that time the company has grown to include aboard of talented local people.
