Cheney Landry, Holly Murry win parish crowns

Cheney Landry, daughter of Robert and Cynthia Landry of Norco, was crowned the 1999 St. Charles Festival Queen Saturday night at DestrehanHigh School.
At Lutcher High School, Holly Murry, daughter of Arthur and Cindy Murry of Gramercy, became the 1999 Miss St. James Parish.The two pageants, held simultaneously at the two high schools, featured young women competing in the queen and teen categories.
Candice Denoux, daughter of Michael and Olivia Denoux of Norco, was crowned the 1999 St. Charles Festival Teen Queen.Crissy Michel, daughter of Mark and Edie Michel of Grand Point, was crowned the 1999 Teen Miss St. James Parish.Other winners in the Miss Teen St. James Parish pageant are KassieWaguespack, first runner-up and fashion award; Jessica Laurent, second runner-up and congeniality award; Lindsay Hymel, third runner-up; Tia Jackson, fourth runner-up; and Heidi Kilburn, photogenic award.
Other winners in the St. Charles Festival Teen Queen pageant are MandySchexnaydre, first runner-up; Amanda Guidry, second runner-up; Megan Pickering, third runner-up; and Sarah Bergeron, fashion award and sweetness (congeniality. Denoux also won the fashion award.Landry’s court members, chosen in the St. Charles Festival Queencompetition, are Kimberly Payne, photogenic, fashion and first runner-up; Vali Lowry, second runner-up; Ashley Haydel, third runner-up; Abby Melancon, fourth runner-up; and Brandy Holton, sweetness.
Murry’s court, chosen, in the Miss St. James Parish competition, are, AmyGravois, first runner-up; Misty Boudreaux, second runner-up and photogenic; and Mary Belak, congeniality. Murry also won the fashionaward.
