RESERVE – A reward is being offered by Hibernia Bank following the robbery Friday morning of its Reserve branch.
Lt. Michael Tregre of the St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office said a”substantial” reward is being offered by the bank, without specifying the amount, for any information which would lead to the arrest and conviction of the robber.
On Friday, a black male wearing a black ski mask entered the bank at 10 a.m. He produced a handgun and told two tellers to “hand over the money,”taking an undisclosed amount of cash.
The gunman then walked to the nearby St. Peter’s Catholic Church parkinglot and fled in an unknown direction.
Tregre said the robber was described as a black male, early 30s, 5-feet- 4-inches in height, wearing a long-sleeved sweatshirt, black pants and black shoes.
He also removed the ski mask outside the bank and revealed a black skullcap with silver writing on it. No description of the robber’s vehiclewas available.
Anyone with information to assist the investigation is urged to contact Lt.
C.J. Destor of the St. John Sheriff’s Office at 652-6338 or the FBI at 522-4671.
