He was shot twice in the chest.Sheriff Greg C. Champagne said a Harahan man running hunting dogs in thearea came upon a large spot of blood on a dirt road running north off the CC Road. Investigating further, the man spotted the body lying face downnear the bank of a tidal pond.

The body wore a white T-shirt, knee-length jean shorts, white socks and bright red underwear with the waistband above that of the shorts. He woreno shoes but did wear light blue, plastic rosary beads.

Champagne did not release information on the exact cause of death, but declared it was definitely a homicide, the second in the parish this year.

He also said it was supposed the victim was killed at the scene “a matter of hours” before discovery of the body.

Detectives Joe Lawler and Chad Robicheaux carefully measured distances and examined the crime scene for possible evidence, under the supervision of case officer Chris Canaski.
