BENTLEY NEW ORLEANS Merviva Bentley, 96, a native of Reserve and a resident of New Orleans, died April 2. She was the wife of the late Arthur Bentley andmother of Wilson Lawrence and the late Mable Camese and James, Willie and Henry Lawrence. She was step-mother of Ruth Smiley.She was also the sister of Beatrice Anderson and the late Georgiana Gilmore, Denise Johnson and Adam Weston.
She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and 23 great-great-grandchildren.
Services were held April 10 in the chapel of D.W. Rhodes Funeral Home,New Orleans, with interment at Resthaven Memorial Park.
BROWN VACHERIE Deloris Rose Brown, 38, a native and resident of Wallace, died April 10. She was the daughter of O’Neil Sr. and Deloris Alexis Brown andsister of Cheryl Demery, Brenda Coleman, Theresa Poche and Bryan and O’Neil Brown Jr.
Services are today at 11 a.m. at St. Philip Catholic Church, Vacherie, withinterment at the church mausoleum.
DENNIS VACHERIE Carolyn Dennis, 43, a native and resident of Vacherie, died April 6. She was the mother of Tiffany Batiste.She was also the daughter of the late George Sr. and Aldonia Dennis andsister of Willie May Marshall, Augusta McNary, Vivian Bazile, Leona Williams, Leonard, George and Calvin Dennis and the late Royal and Bernard Dennis.
Services were held April 12 at St. Luke Baptist Church, Vacherie, withinterment at the church cemetery.
DENNIS ST. JAMES Edgar “Po-Toe” Dennis Sr., 82, a native of Welcome and aresident of St. James, died April 8. He was the husband of the lateMargaret James Dennis and father of Gustavia Forte, Cynthia Parker, Rowena, Patricia, Edgar Jr., Morris and Stephen Dennis and the late SharlinMilan.
He was also the son of the late Ovide and Fannie Jones Dennis and brother of Fannie Watts and Austin Sr. and Elvin Dennis.He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services were held April 12 at St. James Catholic Church, St. James, withinterment at the church cemetery.
DENNIS NEW ORLEANS Edward Dennis, 55, a native of Welcome and a resident of New Orleans, died April 9. He was the step-father of Gilbert Drayton III.He was also the son of the Rev. Alvin Dennis and step-son of Alonia Dennis and brother of Eloise Reynard, Ester Green, Dorothy Anderson, Margie Gleason, Annette, Donald, Jim, Alvin and the Rev. Willie Dennis, EdwardRobinson and Carman and the Rev. Ernest Gleason.Services were held April 13 in the chapel of Dorothy Lawless Mortuary, New Orleans, with interment at Providence Memorial Park.
FAUCHEUX MARRERO Minata Breaud Faucheux, 95, a native of Lutcher and a resident of Waggaman for 60 years, died April 8. She was the wife of the lateLewis Joseph Faucheux and mother of Wayne Faucheux and the late Kenneth Joseph Faucheux.
She was also the daughter of the late Eugene and Julie Pollet Breaud and sister of Florette Goodwin and the late Marguerite Livaudais, Bessie Huge and Raoul, Whitney, Polyey, George, Eddie and Nelson Breaud.
She is also survived by one grandchild-in-law and two great- grandchildren-in-law.
Services were held April 10 in the chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, Marrero, with interment at Garden of Memories Cemetery.
GENDRON LAPLACE Antoinise Perilloux Gendron, 91, a native and resident of LaPlace, died April 10. She was the wife of the late Robert Gendron andmother of Gloria Roussel and Robert Gendron Jr.
She was also the sister of Agney Perilloux and the late Denise Rushing, Jeannette Lapping and Joseph Perilloux.
She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Services were held April 13 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, LaPlace,with interment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.JASMINE RESERVE Richard Jasmine Sr., 45, a native of Garyville and a resident ofReserve, died April 3. He was the husband of Pheobie Jasmin and the fatherof Michael and Richard Jasmine Jr.
He was also the son of Velma Jasmine and the late George Jasmine, adopted son of Vyette Bering, brother of Olita Samuel and Sidney Sr.,Edward Sr., Albert and Willie Jasmine and the late Georgina Powell andstep-brother of Janice Butler, James Nevers and the late Joseph Nevers.
Services were held April 10 at Bethlehem Baptist Church, Reserve, with interment at Zion Travelers Cemetery, Lions.
MANUEL LUTCHER King Edward Manuel, 75, a native and resident of Lutcher, died April 2. He was the son of the late George Sr. and Lucy Volcin Manuel andbrother of Mary Penny, Gloria Prosper, Richard, George Jr. and OscarManuel and the late Clarence Hansley and Dennis, Alex and Matthew Manuel Sr.
Services were held April 10 at King David Baptist Church, Lutcher, with interment at Golden Wreath Cemetery, Lutcher.
PARNELL RIVER RIDGE James A. Parnell Jr., 50, a native of New Orleans andresident of St. Rose, died April 4. He was the husband of Clara WestleyParnell, father of Ternel Thorn and James Parnell III and step-father of Edward, Dwayne, Zachary, Dameion and Lesley Victorian.
He was also the son of the late James A. and Thelma J. Parnell and brotherof Cynthia Carter.
He is also survived by four grandchildren and nine step-grandchildren.
Services were held April 9 in the chapel of Richardson Funeral Home, River Ridge, with interment at Belgrove Cemetery, Kenner.
PATTERSON RESERVE Catherine “Ms. Pea” “Catee” Patterson, 58, a resident of NewSarpy, died April 1. She was the wife of Freeman Patterson and mother ofFreeman Jr., Ricky and the Rev. Jeff Patterson.She was also the daughter of the late Victor Sr. and Evelyn Warren Thomasand sister of Barbara Moses, Gloria Branch, Geraldine Mason, Zilda, Norward and Victor Thomas Jr. and the late Curtis Thomas.She is also survived by 10 grandchildren.
Services were held April 10 at Beechgrove Baptist Church, Reserve, with interment at Providence Cemetery, LaPlace.
REMONDET LAPLACE Patricia T. Remondet, 64, a native of Northern Ireland, formerresident of Reserve and resident of LaPlace for 28 years, died April 7. Shewas the wife of Lee Roy Remondet and mother of Donald and Anna Mae Chenevert, Penny Bourgeois and Anna Mae and Louis Remondet.
She was also the sister of Maurine Cochrane and the late Seamus and Gene Tierney.
She is also survived by four grandchildren.

She was also the daughter of the late Horace and Harriet Dennis Gillard and sister of Marion Grows, Geraldine Boudoin, Cornelouis and Alfred Narcisse and the late Delores Slater and Larry, Alvin Jr. and JosephGillard.
She is also survived by one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
Services were held April 12 at Morning Star Baptist Church, Wallace, with interment at Willow Grove Cemetery.
WIRE GONZALES Aletha Gail Jairles Wire, 46, a native of Vacherie and a resident of Gonzales for 28 years, died April 5. She was the mother ofCardarian and Kecia Lynn Wire.
She was also the daughter of Owen Jairles and the late Evelyn French Jairles and sister of Equila Bazile, Lionel French and Owen Anthony Jairles.
She is also survived by one grandchild.
Services were held April 10 at Highway Baptist Church, Vacherie, with interment at the church cemetery.
ZERINGUE GRAMERCY Elmire Roussel Zeringue, 94, a native of Paulina and a resident of Gramercy, died April 9. She was the wife of the late FelicienZeringue and mother of Marjorie Murphree and Francis and Richard Zeringue.
She was also the daughter of the late Armand and Florisca Roussel and sister of Edmee Roussel and the late Camille Booth, Mae Kroll, Louisiana Deslatte and Hamilton, Vincent, Wilfred, Herbert and Maximillian Roussel.
She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services were held April 13 at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church,Gramercy, with interment at St. Joseph Mausoleum, Paulina. Visitationbegins at 9 a.m. at the church.ZEWE HAMMOND John Carroll Zewe, 48, a native of New Orleans, former resident of Reserve for 39 years, and resident of Hammond for 10 years, died April 12. He was the husband of Susan Dottolo Zewe and father ofAmanda and Courtney Zewe.
He was also the son of the late Alvin and Pearl Keller Zewe and brother of Charles, Jack, David and Donald Zewe.
Services are today at 4 p.m. at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, Hammond, withinterment at Rose Memorial Mausoleum. Visitation starts at 10 a.m.
