Kippes is hospital’s employee of year L’Observateur / April 14, 1999LAPLACE – River Parishes Hospital recently named Kerry Kippes as the 1998 Employee of the Year. Kippes has served as a painter in themaintenance department for nearly 10 years.

The employee given this honor must exemplify the hospital’s eight service excellence standards and must be a true team player who is considerate of others and conscious of his role in the success of the hospital. The employee is selected by a vote of his or her co-workers, as well as by the hospital’s administrative team.
Kippes was awarded a plaque and a check for $500 by Ann Kuss, hospital CEO/managing director, at the hospital’s annual Christmas party on Dec. 12.Kuss said, “Kerry is a shining example of what service excellence is all about at River Parishes Hospital.”When asked how he felt about receiving the award, Kippes said, “Over the past 10 years, I have seen many changes River Parishes Hospital, but the one thing that has remained the same is the feeling of being part of a family.”He recalled that this became even more apparent when he had a massive heart attack while on vacation last June.
“My fellow employees made phone calls, sent cards, offered prayers and visits the whole time I was out,” he said. “They were there forme and my family,.
“Now these same people have chosen me as Employee of the Year. Iam very humbled there are no words to describe my feelings. God hastruly blessed me with a large family.”Kippes is a native of New Orleans and currently resides in LaPlace with his wife, Eileen, and their two children, Maggie Rose and Dylan.
