CHARLES – GRETNA – Iveary Charles, 76, a native of St. James Parish and a residentof Gretna, died March 2. He was the father of Carolyn Kidd, Pearlet Nelsonand Sylvennie and Jeremy Charles.

He was also the son of the late Edward Sr. and Eva Davis Charles andbrother of Geneva Everett, Deloris Charles, Gustavia Nelson, Eloria Martin, Julia Adams and Morris, Edward Jr., Matthew and Alvin Charles.He is also survived by six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services are today at 10 a.m. at St. Paul Baptist Church, Gretna, withinterment at Christian Social Cemetery. Visitation starts at 8 a.m.EDLER – LAPLACE – Jules J. Edler, 76, a native and resident of LaPlace, died March3. He was the husband of the late Leona Mabile Edler and father of RubyBourgeois and Jules Jr. and Carl Edler.He was also the son of the late Anatole and Cecile Edler and brother of Eva Waguespack, Martha Mabile and Clinton, Lionel, Lawrence and Henry Edler.

He is also survived by three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services were held March 5 in the chapel of Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, LaPlace, with interment at St. John Memorial Gardens, LaPlace.

HOLLOWAY – LAPLACE – Larry George Holloway Jr., 24, a native and resident of LaPlace,died Feb. 27. He was the son of Larry Holloway Sr. and Arie Wilson, step-son of John Wilson, brother of Demetrius Holloway and step-brother of Shanel Stipe and Sheree, Shannon and Shondel Wilson.

He was a graduate of the Louisiana School for the Deaf, Baton Rouge.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at New Wine Christian Fellowship Church,LaPlace, with interment at Providence Resthaven Cemetery, LaPlace.

JORDEN – LULING – Lonnie Perry Jorden, 84, a native of Benton and a resident of Luling, died March 3. He was the husband of the late Irene Sharpe Jordenand father of Lonnine Adamietz, Brenda LeRay and Perry Jorden.

He was also the son of the late William and Lenora Bundy Jorden and brother of the late Orive Jorden and Johnnie Jorden.

He is also survived by three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and was preceded in death by one grandchild.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Luling, withinterment at St. Charles Cemetery, Luling. Visitation starts at 8:30 a.m.

MEGGS – ST. JAMES – Nathan “Gut Bucket” Meggs Jr., 74, a native and resident of St.James, died Feb. 27. He was the son of the late Nathan and Florence EllisMeggs and brother of Florence Rodney and Warren, Walter and Amite Meggs.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at Mt. Bethel Baptist Church, St. James, withinterment at Burdon Lane Cemetery. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.

OUBRE – VACHERIE – Mary Cora Weber Oubre, 89, a resident of Wallace, died March 2. She was the wife of the late John W. Oubre and mother of Mary AnneJulien, Carolyn Raphael, Carol Jean, John, Glenn, Jude and Rita Oubre.

She was also the daughter of the late Paul and Josephine Ambrose Weber and sister of August Weber and Shirley Priestly, and was predeceased by two sisters and three brothers.

She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at St. Phillip Catholic Church, Vacherie, withinterment at the church cemetery. Visitation starts at 8 a.m.

REBOWE – NORCO – Peter Rebowe Jr., 90, a native and resident of Norco, died March 3.He was the husband of the late Pearl Brittilo Rebowe and father of Bessie Haydel and Peter Joel Rebowe.

He was also the son of the late Peter Sr. and Bessie Marino Rebowe andbrother of Russell Rebowe, Christine Spillman, Dora Sanders and the late Mary DeJohn and Jenny, Philip, Ralph and Joe Rebowe.

He is also survived by three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services were held March 5 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Norco, with interment at St. Charles Borromeo mausoleum, Destrehan.

SCHAUBHUT – PAULINA – Osciana Louque Schaubhut, 82, a native of Grand Point and a resident of Lutcher, died March 1. She was the wife of the late John P.Schaubhut and mother of Jo Ann Madere, Debbie Barre and Geraldine McCauley.

She was also the daughter of the late Harrison and Regina Louque and sister of the late Lilly Zeringue.

She is also survived by eight grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren and was predeceased by one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.

Services were held March 4 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, withinterment at the church cemetery.

SVEZIA – GARYVILLE – Martha Roccaforte Svezia, 79, a native of Garyville, former resident of Gretna City, Ill., and resident of Garyville, died March 4. Shewas the wife of the late Anthony Svezia and mother of Daniel Svezia.

She was also the daughter of the late Anthony and Vita Ponce Roccaforte and sister of Margaret Roccaforte and the late Rose Miano, Louise Rebaldo and Lamano, Peter and Frank Roccaforte.

She is also survived by two grandchildren.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at St. Hubert Catholic Church, Garyville, withinterment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve. Visitation starts at 9:30 a.m.
