BELL-GRAMERCY – Herbert Bell Sr., 74, a native and resident of Gramercy, diedFeb. 12. He was the husband of Mary Burl Bell and father of Cynthia Joseph,Linda Sterling and Linwood, Herbert Jr. and Sandra Bell.He was also the son of the late Daniel and Bessie Bell and brother of Mildred Bell.
He is also survived by nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services were held Feb. 18 at Greater Golden Grove Baptist Church,Gramercy, with interment at Western Cemetery, Lutcher.
BOURGEOIS- PAULINA – Annette Perilloux Bourgeois, 37, a native of LaPlace and resident of Paulina, died Feb. 13. She was the wife of Kim Bourgeois andmother of Christopher and the late Jesse Bourgeois.
She was also the daughter of Emile and the late Linda Wempren Perilloux, step-daughter of Sandra Perilloux, sister of Donna LeBlanc, Ronald and Curtis Perilloux and step-sister of Robin Brock, Terri Boudreaux and Todd and Scotty St. Pierre.She was also the grandddaughter of Claude Wempren.
Services were held Feb. 17 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, withinterment at the church mausoleum.
COOK-PAULINA – Vernetta Joseph Cook, 34, a native of Gramercy and resident of LaPlace, died Feb. 10. She was the mother of Courtney Cook.She was also the daughter of Ernest Jr. and Madeline Cole Joseph andsister of Yvette Meadows, Maxine Williams and Anthony Joseph.
She was also the granddaughter of Dorothy Cole.
Services were held Feb. 17 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Paulina, withinterment at St. Joseph Mausoleum, Paulina.
CRIER-LAPLACE – Adrian Lerod Crier Jr., age 1 month and 21 days, a native andresident of LaPlace, died Feb. 13. He was the son of Adrian and TrondaCrier and brother of TaiJanae Crier.
He was also the grandson of Joann Bailey Warren, Hester Banks, Alton and Williestine Crier, and great-grandson of Theresa Mitchell, Lucille Johnson, Ethel Kelley and Marcel Crier.
Services were held Feb. 18 at Providence Baptist Church No. 1, LaPlace,with interment at Providence Rest Heaven Cemetery.
HEBERT-RESERVE – Louise Monica Hebert, 82, a native of Garyville and resident of Reserve, died Feb. 18. She was the wife of Ridley Hebert and mother ofVeronica Sylvest.
She was also the daughter of the late Antonino and Filippa Roccaforte Monica and sister of the late Tony, Carlo, Roy, Lamana, Frank, Joe and Vincent Monica, Lena Montz, Rose Duhe and Antonina Bevinetto She is also survived by four grandchildren.
Services are today at 11 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church, with intermentat the church cemetery. Visitation starts at 8 a.m.
JACKSON-WALLACE – Lester Jackson Jr., 62, a native of Wallace and a resident ofLas Vegas, Nev., died Feb. 12. He was the former husband of Barbara RossJackson and father of Kalantha Brown, Terry Ann McGaughey and Jerome and the late Carl Jackson.
He was also the son of Wilberine Gordon Jackson and the late Lester Jackson Sr. and brother of Clara Edwards, James, Marian, Terrell, Chatman,Isaac Sr. and Clarence Jackson Sr.He is also survived by four grandchildren.
Services are today at noon at Greater Woodville Baptist Church, Wallace, with interment at Woodville Cemetery. Visitation starts at 11 a.m.
JONES-PAULINA – The Rev. Samuel Jones Sr., 77, a native and resident of Paulina,died Feb. 11. He was the husband of Mildred Morris Jones and father of LoisMoore, Brenda Manuel, Joyce Jacques and Yolanda, Bernard, Samuel Jr.,Cadera, the Rev. Rodney, the Rev. Arnold and Derek Jones.He was also the son of the late Abe and Agnes Henderson Jones and brother of the late Levy, Calvin and Henry Jones Sr., Edna Bourgeois and AlmaStriggs.
Services were held Saturday at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Paulina, withinterment at St. Joseph’s Mausoleum, Paulina.
LEBLANC-DONALDSONVILLE – Jeanne Schexnayder LeBlanc, 78, a native of Wallace and resident of Donaldsonville, died Feb. 17. She was the wife of the lateCharles R. LeBlanc Sr. and mother of Charles LeBlanc Jr.She was also the daughter of the late Camille and Grace Pollock Schexnayder and sister of Imogene Berthelot, Mildred Orr, Grace Gough, Barbara Hyde, Thomas and the late Edmond Schexnayder and Camille Bartlett.
She was also survived by two grandchildren.
Services were held Saturday at Ascension Catholic Church, Donaldsonville, with interment at the church mausoleum.
McALLISTER- ST. JAMES – Reuben H. “Junior” McAllister Jr., 72, a native of Vicksburg,Miss., and a resident of St. James for two years, died Feb. 13. He was theformer husband of Beverly Wallace and the father of Leslye Young.
He was also the son of the late Reuben Sr. and Pansy Haydel McAllister andbrother of Doris Reynolds, Adele Coulter, Ora Lee Ferchaud and Janice Stewart.
He is also survived by three grandchildren.
Services were held Saturday at St. James Catholic Church, St. James, withinterment at the church cemetery.
PRUDHOMME-LAPLACE – John Richard “Sha” Prudhomme, 69, a native and resident of LaPlace, died Feb. 15. He was the husband of Audry Laiche Prudhomme andfather of Rhonda McTopy, Jennifer Meyer and Kerry and Kevin Prudhomme.
He was also the son of the late James and Palmyre Brady Prudhomme and brother of Warren and James Prudhomme Jr.
He is also survived by six grandchildren.
Services were held Feb. 18 in the chapel of Millet-Guidry Funeral Home,LaPlace, with interment at St. John Memorial Gardens, LaPlace.
RANSON-LULING – J.C. Ranson, 59, a native of Napoleonville and resident of Luling,died Feb. 15. He was the husband of Delores Richard Ranson and father ofLeon Johson and the late Gerald and Larry Ranson.
He was also the son of Ceola Dominik Dunmiles and the late Joseph Ranson and brother of Annie Nixon, Joyce Ann, Elijah Jr., Alvens, George, Gerry,Henry and Larry Dunmiles and the late Leola Mitchell.
He is also survived by six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services are today at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Baptist Church, Luling, withinterment at Bethlehem Cemetery, Hahnville. Visitation starts at 10 a.m.
RICHARDS-NEW ORLEANS – Doris Pierre Richards, 57, a native of Edgard and resident of New Orleans and Bogalusa, died Feb. 11. She was the wife of JamesRichards, mother of Andrea Taylor and step-mother of Darryl Richards.
She was also the daughter of Christine Pierre and the late Joseph Pierre Sr. and sister of Delores Williams, Joseph Jr., Sidney, Gerald and AlbertPierre Sr. and the late Rosemary Pierre.She is also survived by two grandchildren.
Services were held Feb. 17 in the chapel of D.W. Rhodes Funeral Home, NewOrleans, with interment at St. John Cemetery, Edgard.
SAVANNA-GARYVILLE – Guiseppa “Josephine” Savanna, 88, a native of Garyville and a resident of Monroe for 33 years, died Feb. 13. She was the wife of the lateJack Savanna.
She was also the daughter of the late Salvatore and Francesca Candela Miano and sister of Antonia Tusa, Victor and Salvatore Miano Jr. and thelate Margaretta “Margaret” Triolo, Guiseppe “Joe,” Francesco “Frank,” Antonio “Tony,” Paulo “Paul,” Guglielmo “Willie” and Salvatore “Sam” Miano.
Services were held Feb. 17 at St. Hubert Catholic Church, Garyville, withinterment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.
TREGRE-ST. JAMES – Maurice Joseph Tregre Jr., 69, a native and resident of St.James, died Feb. 15. He was the son of the late Maurice Sr. and ZulmaTassin Tregre and brother of John Tregre and the late Marie Therese Tregre.
Services were held Feb. 18 at St. James Catholic Church, St. James, withinterment at the church cemetery.
