A ribbon-cutting ceremony was recently held for Chung’s Heavenly Sweets, located at 607 Belle Terre Blvd. in LaPlace. Chung’s serves specialty desserts, soups, sandwiches and salads. In attendance at the ceremony are (left to right) Pastor Paul Naylor and his family, River Region Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Chassity McComack, Julie Remondet of the Economic Development Council, Sheila Butler of Entergy, Special Assistant to the St. John Parish President Angelic Sutherland, St. John CAO Marie Brown-Mercadel, St. John Parish President Natalie Robottom, Judy Songy of Century 21, owner Chung Suk, Angel and Alfred Cutno and Catherine and state Rep. Nickie Monica.
