" What happened in court on the 9th? It makes me more angry now knowing Chad was still alive when they found him. That means he couldve been saved if they wouldve called for help when it happened. I can't believe 2 people could be so heartless! "

" THE PEOPLE WHO KILLED MY SON-IN-LAW CHAD GAUBERT GO TO COURT ON 02-09-10. LETS ALL STAND TOGETHER AND DO THE DECENT THING AND MAKE SURE THESE PEOPLE DONT GET AWAY WITH MURDER. THEY NOT ONLY HIT CHAD WITH THEIR JEEP THEY BOTH GOT OUT OF THEIR VEHICLE AND LOOKED AT CHAD THEN LEFT WITHOUT HELPING HIM. HE WAS STILL ALIVE AND PROBABLY WOULD HAVE BEEN HOME WITH HIS 2 LITTLE BOYS BY NOW. LETS HAVE JUSTICE "

" You know Chad was a very dear and close friend of mine. I realize as a parent you may feel the driver is more responsible. (I feel like she should be doing life personally)but the point is both will have to live with this for the rest of their lives! My friend is gone forever!!!! he is the type of person that would have gotten out of his car, checked a pulse, stayed with the victom!!! If they were scared i don't understand, a pay phone annonymous to 911. N-E thing! perhaps he didn't die on inpact, perhaps immidiate medical attention could have saved his life. It doesnt matter who serves what time dammit. Its about human compation, decency and doing the right thing! Justice? he AND she should have accepted responsibility the moment it happened! R.I.P Smokey! - big Sex-Z_ "

" MY 2 GRANDSONS LOST THE ONLY FATHER THEY KNEW. TWO PEOPLE KILLED THEIR FATHER. TWO PEOPLE GOT OUT OF THAT JEEP AND DECIDED THAT CHAD WAS NOT WORTH THEIR TIME. WE ALL KNOW HE WAS DRIVING, THEY JUST FEEL SHE WILL GET MORE SYMPATHY FROM THE COURTS. THEIR ACTIONS TOOK A DADDY AWAY FROM HIS BOYS AND I WILL BE AT EVERY HEARING POSSIBLE TO SEE THAT THEY BOTH GET WHAT THEY DESERVE. BY THE WAY, HAVE THEY CHANGED THE NAME OF THEIR JEEP? LET THEM BOTH FRY "

" I once hit a dog that came out in to the road between two cars. I was sick! Thought I had killed him. I stopped and got out. Unbelieveable, all he had was minor cuts and was able to get up. The owner thanked me for stopping and I offered to take them to my vet, which he declined the offer. I could only imagine what one thinks to themselves after they run over a person and verify they ran over a person by getting out of the vehicle. The part that disturbs me more is not the focus of what sentence these folks may or may not receive, but the lack of human decency and responsibility. I pray for both families! Have a safe day! "

" We do not condone our sons action. Now its ludicrous what is being done. His charges are stiffened to hit and run felony and perhaps charging him as the driver, while REDUCING HER CHARGES even though she was the driver. This is injustice, especially with the DA’s office having a gag order. Corruption? Joel Chaisson is her attorney the President Pro Temp in Louisiana Senate. That is stroke in St Charles Parish. Please pray for our son William and put justice back into the system. By the way, the driver is out with only a $5,000 bail and he is still in jail on $150,000 bond requirement. Makes one wonder if “all men are created equal”. If anyone knows stuff on her confessions as her hitting this man or even the belief that she was drunk/stoned or things to help Billy especially her saying she drove after getting out the car and looking at the victim please send me an email. Lets pray for the victim, may he rest in peace. Please cut and paste these comments into your facebook/myspace/twitter accounts and spread the word of what is going on. We have to stop this injustice before this state becomes known as a banana republic.

Police: Couple admits to St. Charles hit-and-run death

    Jay Vise Reporting

State police investigators say a couple from Lockport turned themselves in this weekend and admitted to fatally running over a pedestrian on New Year's Day.

According to a Troop B spokeswoman trooper Melissa Matey, the two said they were driving a Jeep Wrangler on Highway 90 when they hit a pedestrian who was walking in the middle of the roadway.

Police say 30-year-old William Theriot was a passenger in the Jeep at the time of the crash, and 28-year-old Jennifer Theriot was behind the wheel.

Investigators say after hitting the pedestrian, both Jennifer and William Theriot exited the Jeep an observed the victim lying on the roadway. Detectives say without rendering aid or reporting the crash, the two then fled the scene.

Jennifer Theriot was booked into St. Charles Parish lockup for Felony Hit and Run. William Theriot was also booked for Accessory After the Fact relating to the Felony Hit and Run.

The incident reportedly happened early on the morning of January 1, after a passer-by notified police of a man's body lying on the shoulder of the road on US 90 east at mile post 235, which is approximately 0.4 miles west of LA 632.

That man was identified as 28-year-old Chad M. Gaubert Paradis. "
